First published in 1884, "Wide Awake Stories" is a wonderful collection of stories told by children in the Punjab and Kashmir, collected and compiled into this volume by Flora Annie Steel. She notably lived in British India for 22 years and is best remembered for her books set or related to the sub-continent.
