I want to share my experiences with you. I am eighty four years old, and I am not senile. Everything I wrote in this book is the truth. I am concerned about the way this country is heading. I have lived to see many administrations operate since nineteen thirty two. These politicians in DC ARE arrogant and power crazy. They want to dictate to us how we work, live and carry on. Many of them are guilty of tax evasion. They walk around as if they are immune to any penalty they should be given. WE tell them that majority of people are against their version of the health plan. They will use any trick to get their plan into the law. They forget that they are employed by the taxpayer. They want to run your life as they see fit. I and millions of veterans fought for our freedom, because we love this country We do not want these socialist thugs to ruin this. If you agree with me vote these politicians out of office, if they do not perform the American way. When you read this book you will thank me for enlightening everyone. Today you hear quite a bit about discrimination. In my early days there was always people being discriminated. To start with there were no laws to protect them. They took in stride, because they were too busy trying to survive the great depression. Today the so called depressed are always whining. They are lazy, do not want to work or get an education. All they want is handouts from the government. The only people should get money are the sick, handicap, elderly. Politicians cater to the lazy ones to get their votes. They are scheming to get illegals citizenship, to get more votes. They do not care about the future of this country. I do I want the younger generation to enjoy this great country, as I did. Especially my sons and grandchildren.

Becoming a mother is rarely what you expect. Jane Roper never expected she'd have twins—or that they'd be such a spirited twosome. She didn't expect that finding the right balance of work and home would be so tricky. And she certainly didn't expect she'd grapple with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder during her daughters' toddler years. But she also didn't anticipate just how much joy, laughter and self-discovery motherhood would bring. Full of warmth, honesty, occasional advice, and a generous helping of humor, Double Time is a smart and engaging account of the first three years with multiples and a refreshingly candid and vulnerable look at clinical depression. It's a memoir that will resonate countless women—especially those parenting in double time.

Is there a silver lining to growing up in a dysfunctional family? Twenty-four survivors recount their stories—and the strengths forged in the chaos. Living in a dysfunctional family isn’t easy. But while you can’t choose where you come from, you can choose the lessons you take away. Bestselling recovery author Karen Casey looks at stories of people who grew up in dysfunctional families and “the good stuff” that can, ironically, come from the experience. She interviews survivors who emerged from the fires of turbulent households affected by abuse, addiction, or other problems, and reveals how they came to process their often-harrowing personal trials and, against the odds, triumph over their difficulties—using skills they honed in response to their childhoods. In The Good Stuff from Growing Up in a Dysfunctional Family, Casey reveals the stories and the skills they developed to live more creative and fulfilling lives, and not just survive but thrive. “Using her interviews as groundwork, she explores the benefits that result from surviving in a dysfunctional family, including resiliency, perseverance, a sense of humor, forgiveness, kindness, and the ability to discern real love.” —Publishers Weekly “You just can’t go wrong with Karen Casey.” —Earnie Larson, author of Stage II Recovery
