The events which al-Zahra' had to undergo and the tribulations were not directed against just her own self, or against her personality as an individual, as much as transgressing firm Islamic principles inorder to reach what those who carried them out could not otherwise reach or achieve, matters which they had no right to attain. Al- Zahra' in fact, was a mighty bulwark that stood in the way of the achievement of such unjustified and illegitimate ambitions. This issue emphasized and confirmed the illegitimacy and illegality of such ambitions according to the nation's level of awareness, in her conscience, and in the Islamic and human consciousness as well. This brief review aims at displaying those inquiries which produced some sort of doubts among some people then register observations and provide explanations which clarify things and, God willing, polish the right image and perfect its necessary characteristics, providing explanations or answers to other questions or doubts raised about other issues relevant to al-Zahra' .

Fatima, daughter of the Prophet of Islam, did not enjoy this life for long and passed away only few days after the demise of her father. She was not sick; rather, grief and sorrow snatched his soul away. This book sheds light on certain historic circumstances as well as on the individuals who were bitter enemies of her husband, Ali ibn Abu Talib, and who were jealous of his merits and accomplishments. The author wrote this book initially in response to another written by someone who cast doubts about certain very serious and shameful facts which the author of this book details. He cites numerous references (more than three hundred and fifty) written by historians and biographers from both branches of the Islamic faith and throughout the Islamic history. One who reads this book with an open mind will conclude that Fatima died prematurely, and that, ironically, those who were responsible for her early death have since the very first Islamic century been glorified by the vast majority of the Muslims, that even the whereabouts of her grave remain unknown, something which she herself desired and planned. Who were those people? Why did they disrespect the “Head of the Women of the World,” the mother of the two masters of the youths of Paradise and wife of the Prophet’s right hand, the people who even confiscated her inheritance from her revered father? This book answers all these questions and many more.

Over the years, the belief system around self sacrifice has become key to understanding the Middle East and its political relationships with the West although much of the literature and conversation has been restricted to modern concepts of jihadism. The recent spate of scholarship relating to suicide bombers and jihadists studies these concepts without a broader understanding of the principle of martyrdom. This book expands on the chronology of self-sacrifice within Islam and contextualises the use of suicide bombings using details of the rise of martyrdom in places such as Iraq, Lebanon, Chechnya and Pakistan. It historicises the background in which 'jihad' has been glorified while also exploring contemporary methods of recruitment, like the use of the internet. The authors pay close attention to the different sects and factions of Islam and the differing interpretations of jihad that accompany these ideologies. In the current political climate, a book that explores martyrdom within the framework of historical perspectives, geographical regions and the influence of outside cultures is essential.

By God! They raised objection against the cutting swords of Ali, his being indifference with respect to the death in the battlefield, his power of the combat in the warfare, and the scattering strokes. By God! If people have joined with each other and would have given the caliphate to some one about whom the Holy Prophet (SAW) has recommended, any time if the people had deviated from the path of the truth, he would guided them towards the righteous path with out any pain and disturbance that neither the mount had become incapacitated nor its rider would have tired and sad. Ultimately he would have lead them to the pure and pleasant fountainhead of water, the canal that on both sides was saturated with the water that had never been polluted. And then after the complete quenching of their thirst had returned them, and as a result they would have found him their well-wisher in hidden and apparent. [Ali] would never had taken any benefit from the world and from it there had not been any advantage except the quenching of the thirsty and feedings of the hungry ones. And here the world-worshipper from the ascetic one, righteous one from the liar had been explicit for all of them. And in accordance of what God's has said in the Holy Qur'an: 'If the people of towns would have accepted faith and were pious, We would have opened the gates of heaven's blessing upon them, but since they denied We punished them for their evil deeds.' And: 'Those who indulges in the tyranny and oppression their deeds would caught their skirt, and they would never be able to escape from the divine punishment.' The second Sermon of Fatimeh al-Zahra (SA), p-155."

This Volume discusses a number of various topics which the author thinks the reader will find to be very interesting. Among them are: Surat al-Fatiha (the Opening Chapter of the Holy Qur’an), its significance, implications, mysteries and linguistic marvels; a number of selected supplications (original Arabic texts and author’s translations) and the stories behind them in order to demonstrate how one can get to know his Lord from supplication; a discussion of the biography of the Prophet of Islam which occupies the bulk of this book and which takes the reader back to the 7th Century and how the Arabs were living in their Peninsula, their interactions with followers of Paganism, Christianity and Judaism. He narrates details of a plot to assassinate the Prophet’s mother and later to assassinate him, wizardry and witchcraft during the time; how the Islamic message was born, fought for survival and flourished, the two Jewish ladies who became the Prophet’s wives, covenants of the Prophet with the Christians of Najran, Yemen, and with Medina, Hijaz (Arabic texts and translations), how the immediate family of the Prophet of Islam did not receive the recognition it deserves and the injustice meted particularly to his only surviving daughter, Fatima, whose inheritance was confiscated... It also contains three important chapters: 1) one about the Qur’an and its miraculous aspects, 2) another about the rising Islamophobia throughout the West and Islam bashing in Japan, and 3) a discussion of “jihad”, the most misunderstood Islamic concept, and of the Qaida menace: Wahhabism, Takfirism and terrorism. Throughout the book, the author stresses the unity of the adherents to the Abrahamic faith, advocating peaceful coexistence between the Muslims of the world and followers of all other religions; after all, according to him, we all are members of one and the same family which our parents, Adam and Eve, started.

YASIN T. AL-JIBOURI is an Iraqi-American writer, author, editor and translator who has as many as 54 titles to his credit. Details of these works and of his other activities are provided in the Preface to this book as well as front cover images of some of these works on pages 46-75. He holds a Masters' degree in English from an American university, and he taught English in his home country, Iraq, and in Saudi Arabia and the United States. Presently, he is writing his major work titled Allah: The Concept of God in Islam in two volumes as well as A Dictionary of Islamic Terms, also in two volumes. This book is an attempt to bring Christians and Muslims of the world closer to each other, to bridge the gap between, to establish an alliance among them, so that they may together be able to face the challenges of the present and of the future. One of these challenges is extremism, the new menacing plague that is endangering the lives of so many people from both creeds and from others. Knowledge, right and accurate knowledge, is powerful, and such power can be put to good use: to clear misconceptions, remove doubts and suspicions and establish trust and understanding among followers of both creeds. Philosophically, this book cites many first-hand references to prove that, unfortunately, present day Christianity, regardless of any of its many denominations, has truly distanced itself from the original word preached by Jesus Christ. It traces the times and circumstances when concepts of "son of God", "Holy Trinity" and "salvation" crept into Christianity and distorted the pristine faith brought by Christ. At the same time, it highlights Qur'anic verses that beautifully paint a portrait of Jesus Christ and his saintly virgin mother, Mary, testifying to the truth brought by Christ, to his miracles, guidance and truth. The information is presented in a flowing style that captures the attention of any reader, including one who just is looking for a good story to enjoy.
