From New York Times bestselling author Kate White comes a gripping novel about one woman’s dangerous quest to recover lost memories someone would rather she never find. The key to her missing memories could bring relief—or unlock her worst nightmares. On a cold, rainy morning, finance journalist Ally Linden arrives soaked to the bone at her Manhattan office, only to find that she’s forgotten her keycard. When her boss shows, he’s shocked to see her—because, he explains, she hasn’t worked there in five years. Ally knows her name, but is having trouble coming up with much beyond that, though after a trip to the psychiatric ER, she begins to piece together important facts: she lives on the Upper West Side; she’s now a freelance journalist; she’s married to a terrific man named Hugh. More memories materialize and yet she still can’t recall anything about the previous two days. Diagnosed as having experienced a dissociative state, she starts to wonder if it may have been triggered by something she saw. Could she have witnessed an accident—or worse—had something happened to her? Desperate for answers, Ally tries to track where she spent the missing days, but every detail she unearths points to an explanation that’s increasingly ominous, and it’s clear someone wants to prevent her from learning where those forty-eight hours went. In order to uncover the truth, Ally must dig deep into the secrets of her past—and outsmart the person who seems determined to silence her.

Encounters, transformations, and reflections from in-prison and post-release theater workshops See Me is a collection of intimate dialogues about collective experiences in the context of prison theater workshops. Each essay is a collaboration between two or three people who connected profoundly in the temporary community that a workshop can create. Part I is an exchange grounded in the prison theater workshop between the author and one of the incarcerated participants. They alternately tell the story of what they found in the workshop, each other, the future they imagined together, and the social turmoil and utopian aspirations of the times. Part II consists of essays jointly written by eight other people impacted by close relationships spawned in diverse in-prison and re-entry theater workshops.

Glad You Got To See Me By: Paul J. Faber Paul J. Faber was born and raised near the small, rural town of Dumont, Iowa. He left for the Marine Corp at seventeen years old. After boot camp, being stationed in Japan, and being a guard for President Eisenhower, he was stationed at the American Embassy in Reykjavik, Iceland. Along with all of his other adventures, one of the most significant was meeting his Icelandic wife of now sixty years, Karin. Later, Faber was transferred to Spain, and he and Karin were married on the Rock of Gibraltar with monkeys as their wedding guests. They later returned to live on a farm just outside of Dumont, Iowa. Faber has had a unique and interesting career, and throughout his career and his marriage, he has been a storyteller. While living in Nebraska, he was an adventurer and would sometimes take his daughter with him on his adventures. She was always captivated by his stories. She grew up and had two daughters of her own who appreciate Faber being their biggest fan and being the subject of many of “Opa’s” stories. Faber knows no strangers, and after most every visit, he says in his jovial way, “Glad you got to see me!” Reading this book of stories is as easy as sitting with Paul and having a cup of coffee and imagining yourself in one of many of Opa’s adventures. Enjoy!
