There are hot-spots, sink-holes, and hell-holes all over the earth. They move around a bit. Baghdad in Iraq has been often a hot-spot, Kabul in Afghanistan is another. Then there's the sink-hole of Tehran in Iran, together with the recently war-torn Damascus in Syria. Don't blame the places, nor even the folks. New York in the USA, London in the UK, and Brussels in the EU are no different for being sometimes politically-sinking hot-spots or terrorist-targeted hell-holes. In terms of prophetic history, a welter of the world's biggest cities are everyday battlegrounds from which governmental academics compartmentalise their own specialist solutions. Most of these solutions, whether military or civic, fall so far short of the cosmic solution as to escalate the existing state of world disorder. Sure enough, without a barebones history of hell there's no point to fixing up hell-holes. Without the briefest history of heaven, it's also pointless to shore-up sink-holes. And as for the world's hot-spots, you have to look as deep into the souls of the good-guys as you do into the souls of the bad-guys. But you can't just walk off from compartmentalising a problem and expect it to sort itself out. For a workable solution you've got to bring back all the component parts together again that you first took apart and make them work together. That's exactly why this Soul-Catcher's Calling stops at nothing short of dealing with all things both under the sun and beyond the sun. Soul-catching is a military operation, at first under command, and then undertaken entirely by personal commitment. All such tours of duty overseas will be carefully monitored and guided by the most experienced of guardian angels. However perilous the front-line travel, none who seriously commit themselves to this soul-catching operation shall get left behind.

Part one of a trilogy, The Way of the Soul Catcher is an imaginative and life-affirming story about a young girl living an ordinary life, who discovers she has an extraordinary ability. Charlotte Lowe was born into an Outlander world and lives with her adoring father, Mike, a tinkering engineer, and their knowing greyhound, Kitty. Their simple, community lifestyle, where seasons are punctuated with festivals and games, lies in stark contrast to that of the Connected, who live in high-tech cities ruled by an elite group, the Providers. After inheriting a rare artefact, a Soul Catcher's wheel, Charlotte learns about the extraordinary events around her mother's death 12 years earlier. So starts a spiritual adventure in which she meets the seven heavenly hounds, is shown the ancient Book of Ways, and learns about the alchemy of understanding. In an unexpected twist, Charlotte is called on to help those who would see her world destroyed. As one of only seven Soul Catchers in the world, she must use her skills to save not only her own life, but all life - and even death itself.

"WE WERE DELINQUENTS, ADDICTS, MENTAL CASES, ORPHANS AND KIDS FROM BROKEN HOMES." Fifteen-year-old Kate Steiner is not sure why she is suddenly boarding at an East Coast school for troubled kids, though there is evidence that her lawyer parents are having marital problems. It is the mid-1970s, and at the progressive school where she has landed, Kate is initiated into a stratified society inhabited by kids who fell through the cracks. Kate must grapple with moral ambiguities when she discovers that Patrick, her first boyfriend, is also a slip-sliding drug addict. In the loosening of family ties, and faced with an inscrutable headmaster, uncommunicative parents and a doomed first love, Kate makes shadowy passage through her questioning adolescence...finding solace in a soul catcher dangling inside a geodesic dome built by a quirky boy who surprises her with an unexpected friendship. Praise for international bestseller Katia Liefs novels: "Taut, clean storytelling." --Publishers Weekly "Readers will want to read more of this talented writers work." --New York Journal of Books".
