The SCIP manual will introduce a new assessment tool designed to be compatible with 21st century advances in measurement-base care (MBC) and personalized medicine in psychiatry (PMP). The SCIP includes 18 clinician-administered and 15 self-administered reliable and validated scales covering most adult symptom domains: anxiety, obsessions, compulsions, posttraumatic stress, depression, mania, delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thoughts, aggression, negative symptoms, alcohol use, drug use, attention deficit/hyperactivity, and eating disorders. Mental health professionals (psychiatrists, psychiatry residents, psychologists, therapists, clinical social workers, counselors, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, professors, students, and mental health researchers) are the primary audience of the manual. These professionals will be able to implement SCIP scales in their practice and use the SCIP psychopathology glossary as part of the emerging science of personalized medicine psychiatry (PMP). Existing books on measures and rating scales, such as the two books above, describe different scales developed by different authors at different periods. Each scale has its own rating guidelines and training requirements, which must be followed by clinicians in order to use the scales. This demands a considerable amount of time for clinicians and can be a barrier to using the scales in practice. Even within the same psychopathology domain, many published measurement scales exist. For instance, the book published by Waters and Stephane includes 120 scales for psychosis. Among the 120 scales for psychosis, which scale(s) should the clinician choose? Our proposed manual will remove these barriers by creating simple and universal principles which allow readers to use the 33 reliable and validated SCIP scales with most adult psychiatric disorders. There will be 15 videotaped interviews available online for readers who buy the book. Readers are expected to watch the interviews in conjunction with reading the manual.

The Social Communication Intervention Programme (SCIP) has been developed to support school-aged children (6–11 years) with social communication, pragmatic, and language needs. The Social Communication Intervention Programme Manual provides a rationale and method for providing specialist level language therapy for these children who have significant social communication differences. Evidence for the effectiveness of SCIP is included in The Manual. This book introduces the SCIP model and explores the three main components: social understanding/social inference, pragmatics, and language processing. Guidance is included on how to link assessment with therapy, how to plan and individualise interventions, and how to proceed with the programme. It contains a wealth of real-life case examples to illustrate key points, with step-by-step instructions for carrying out the interventions. Used alongside The Social Communication Intervention Programme Resource, this book offers a truly practical, tried-and-tested model to provide targeted, individualised intervention for children with social communication challenges. It is an essential tool for speech and language therapists, specialist teachers, and psychologists who are working with children with social communication, pragmatic, and language needs. For the most effective use, The SCIP Manual should be purchased alongside The SCIP Resource.

Canada Reveue Agency's Criminal Investigations Manual, post-Jarvis (see my book on ITA Collection for implications thereof). This is also available - updated - thru the CRA Government Publications website and easily readable in any TSO Public Reading Room. I read the predecessor of this in '88-'90 when I was studying tax law in their Montreal TSO when aspiring to be a CRA Auditor...just like Larry Jacobson MBA, CA, of Montreal, of the CRA and later also private practice...because Kim Scott Neufeld, CA, LLB of Winnipeg, who stole my heart and gave me my mind in replacement starting in '87 on Her way to being, while being a dazzling lawyer. To "... collect your darn taxes: MY doctor has to be paid - she does't work for free you know...not in my case, that's for sure." (Neufeld, has the humour gotten worse, or heaven forbid, better? You gave me my mind you know.) Led to me knowing EXACTLY who to call on Dec 20th'94 and Mar 8th'95 about Yank Barry's Small Business Loan fraud scheme (illicit inflation of invoices to create needed funding to survive, and be merely greedy - w/ access to all sorts of family perhaps reasonably-legitimate funding to start his Vitapro Foods). ("Roger, Roger." ...only now it's more "Oh Lyndon, Oh Lyndon".) https://books.google.ca/books?id=pFbaEAAAQBAJ&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_ge_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q&f=false
