Of water. Hydrated copper oxide is precipitated from this solution by adding a slight excess oi a 10% solution of sodium hydroxide. Wash the precipitate entirely free from alkali, drain, and mix with a 10% solution of glycerol. Preserve in stoppered bottles, and when desired for use wash free from glycerol and dissolve in ammonia water of 20% strength.
