Excerpt from The Medical Times and Gazette, Vol. 1: A Journal of Medical Science, Literature, Criticism, and News; For 1869 Van! Excerpt from The Medical Times and Gazette, 1863, Vol. 1: A Journal of Medical Science, Literature, Criticism, and News That the attention of the Association having been called to the plan proposed for the deodorisation of the sewage of the western district of the metropolis, and its subsequent dis charge into the Thames, the Association wish to record their opinion that it will be ineffectual in its operation, pernicious in its in uence on the river, and entirely subversive of the principles on which the intercepting scheme was originally based. They passed further resolutions, to the effect that this expression of opinion should be forwarded to all the vestries and district boards of the metropolis, and that a. Deputation from the Association should wait upon the Metro. Politan Board of Works, in the hope that they may be induced to reconsider their determination. Mr. Burge, the Fulham District Board, and the Health Officers of London, have thus done their duty manfully. It remains to be seen what effect these protests will have upon the central authority, which has the power to do a large benefit to the metropolis, or an incalculable damage. Excerpt from The Medical Times and Gazette, Vol. 2 In consequence of this faith in facts he overlooks none; he passes by none. Now, a common error is to think some facts more important than others but all are important, and if one is left out, a whole heap may fall asunder. Now, Harvey omits nothing; he commences with the most obvious, and pro weds step by step; nothing is blurred; nothing is left 111 defined. His work was composed before the Novum Organon was published, but it has been well said by Willis that it might have been planned on the model of that system.
