First observed by Galileo, Saturn lies in the distant reaches of the solar system; it is the sixth planet, a gaseous giant between Jupiter and Uranus. It takes its name from the mythological father of Jupiter and Roman god of agriculture. Because of the famous circle of rings Saturn is one of the most well-regarded occupants of the galaxy. Despite their continuous appearance from Earth, the rings are actually space dust and debris trapped by Saturn's gravitational pull, a fact garnered from several satellite passes and telescope observations. The origin of Saturn's rings, however, remains a mystery. Apart from the rings, we also are aware of its moon system, with the most intriguing planetoid called Titan, itself having been the subject of science fiction speculation as a home to life. Saturn has been visited by Pioneer 11 and the two Voyager probes, with Cassini slated to arrive in 2004. Our study of this most intriguing planet will continue into the foreseeable future, with the hopes of resolving the mysteries it hides. This book provides a thorough and interesting overview of Saturn, from its initial observation centuries ago to the contemporary satellite fly-bys. Anyone captivated by the mysteries of space and the wonders of Saturn needs to understand the background covered here. After the overview is a substantial and carefully selected set of abstracts of literature pertaining to Saturn, with easy access then given through author, title, and subject indexes.

Astrology and geopolitics may seem strange bedfellows, but Soul-Sick Nation puts the two together to provide a perspective as extraordinary as the times we are living in. Using the principles of ancient wisdom to make sense of the current global situation, this book invites us to look at the USA from the biggest possible picture: that of cosmic meaning. With a rare blend of compassion, humor and fearless taboo-busting, Soul-Sick Nation reveals America's noble potential without sentiment and diagnoses its neuroses without delusion, shedding new light on troubling issues that the pundits and culture wars inflame but leave painfully unresolved: the WTC bombings, the war in Iraq, Islamic jihad, media propaganda, consumerism and the American Dream. In her interpretation of the birth chart of the entity born July 4, 1776, Murray offers an in-depth analysis of America's essential destiny--uncovering, chapter by chapter, the greater purpose motivating this group soul. She shows how this purpose has been distorted, and how it can be re-embraced in the decades to come. She decodes current astrological transits that express the key themes the USA must learn in this period of millennial crisis-including that of the responsibility of power-spelling out the profound lessons the nation will face in the next few years. Combining the rigor of a political theorist with the vision of a master astrologer, this keenly intelligent book elucidates the meaning of an epoch in distress, and proposes a path towards healing-of the country and of its individual citizens. Murray explains how each of us can come to terms with this moment in history and arrive at a response that is unique and creative. This book willleave you revitalized, shorn of illusions and full of hope.

In this eBook original, numerous practical as well as philosophical issues are explored. In an in-depth, wide-ranging interview appearing in book form for the first time, Stephen Arroyo answers questions about his early years in astrology, how he came to write some of his classic works, and his views on various central issues in astrology’s current practice and potential future development. In another chapter, he provides concise new observations and guidelines that provide more insightful ways of understanding many factors in both individual birth charts and chart comparisons. In the other sections of this book, he discusses what astrology can contribute to psychology, how to understand the Ascendant, and possible explanations of transits’ powerful effects. And importantly, this is the only book currently available that describes and explores his unique theory of “subtones” as an incisive, psychologically revealing method of achieving greater depth in understanding any birth chart. In short, utilizing “subtones” is a method of synthesizing the major chart factors in any person’s chart in a simple, quick way that people at any level of astrological knowledge can easily learn and reliably use.
