The territory of Nebraska showed a little better record in numbers, as five Lodges were in successful operation there, though- four had suspended; making the highest figure nine. NEW YORK. From New York State the only report received by the R.W.G.S. was that John Webster, of Constantia, was the G.W.C.T., and H. A. Palmer, the G.W.S., but there were no proceedings published of the sessions of the Grand Lodge which elected them, and consequently, as the records of the G.W.S, are lost, we can give no account of it. We believe it was held during the first week in December, 1857, at Syracuse. It must have died out then, if it was held, and no other Grand Lodge Session held for eight years. MICHIGAN. The re-organised Grand Lodge of Michigan was held, February 9th and 10th, 1858. Twenty-three Lodges; 903 members. Officers elected were: G.W.C.T., M. S. Braokett. G.W.V.T., Eer. S. Steele. G.W.C., H. A. Witney. G.W.S., John Evans. G.W.T, P. G. Johnson, TENNESSEE. The Grand Lodge of Tennessee was struggling for existence. But little progress had been made. Working Lodges, 23; and about 950 members. G.W.C.T., Hugh Carroll. G.W.S., A. P. Skipwith. ARKANSAS. No full reports came to hand since the organisation of the Grand Lodge. In the early part of the year they reported 17 Lodges, with a membership of 635. G.W.C.T., James G. Walker. G.W.S., P. P. Van Hoose. Ritual.-- Two Grand Lodges bad before tbe close of the year adopted the new Ritual published by the Committee--Canada and Ohio. Their action may be accounted for by the fact that the Chairman of that Ritual Committee was the G.W.S. of the Grand Lodge of Canada, and there a large number of Lodges seceded, and retained the old Ritual rather than adopt the new that had not yet been...
