Some time before these messages were given, desiring to be quiet and away from many things, I went down into the country with my heart very much to the Lord for His word. In the early hours of the morning it seemed as though the heavens opened and everything became alive: it all opened up wonderfully, and centered in one phrase – “Pioneers of the Heavenly Way.” That really does sum up the verses (Hebrews 11:13-16)..., and, while we are going to think and perhaps say much about the heavenly way, it is this matter of pioneering the heavenly way that will be our main concern. It is necessary, to begin with, for us to consider to some extent the heavenly way itself, but I repeat that it is this whole tremendous business of pioneering that way that I believe to be the main concern of the Lord, and hence of ourselves, at this time. Winner of the 2017 Christian Book Award for New Author Named one of the top books of 2016 by John Piper's Desiring God ministry To experience why the gospel is good news and answer life’s most foundational questions about identity, destiny, and purpose, we must understand what it means to be united to Christ. If you are a Christian, the Bible says that Christ has united his life to yours, that you are now in Christ and Christ is in you. This almost unfathomable truth is the central theme of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Yet few Christians today experience or enjoy this reality. Union with Christ reveals the transformational power of this ancient doctrine while addressing the basic questions of the human heart: Who Am I? Why Am I Here? Where Am I Headed? How Will I Get There? Nothing is more practical for living the Christian life than union with Christ. The recovery of this reality provides the anchor and engine for your life with God—for your destiny is not only to see Christ, but to actually become like him.

This pocket size book is for the soul looking to learn how to be ever more devoted to Our Lady. Fr. Emile Neubert, a 20th century, French Mariologist, writes this work in-depth as compared to his condensed book, "My Ideal, Jesus, son of Mary." Fr. Neubert, a Marianist, one of the finest Mariologists of the twentieth century, is not only the author of scholarly works, but of an amazing number of excellent books on matters spiritual and pastoral from a Marian perspective. This work, only now published in an English translation, first appeared in France in 1952 and was quickly translated into most European languages, but never in English. Fr. Neubert considered it one of his most important works. Countless priests have found this text an inspiring book of meditation and a source of priestly renewal. Throughout this work, Mary is presented especially as Mother: the Mother of God, our Mother, the Mother of all the members of the Mystical Body of Christ. Mary’s Motherhood is an image of the maternal character of the Church. For Fr. Neubert, Marian devotion consists not so much in specific practices but, rather, in offering one’s life to the Virgin Mary, an offering which has an ecclesial dimension. For St. Louis Grignion de Montfort, Marian consecration is a solemn renewal of one’s baptismal commitment confided to the Virgin Mother. For Blessed William Joseph Chaminade, Marian consecration is to assist Mary in her apostolic mission: as she gave birth to Christ, “the First-born among many brethren, she cooperates, with a mother’s love, in the generation and formation of the faithful” (Lumen Gentium 63).

This book explains key doctrines in theology from the perspective of biblical eschatology. Eschatology first appears in Genesis rather than in Revelation, for it is about the chief end of man and God’s creation. It is placed in the beginning rather than at the end of theology as the central and foundational motif. “The chief end of man” in the Westminster Shorter Catechism, for instance, is an eschatological concept in nature as well as in redemption. Eschatology precedes redemption, but “the eschatology of nature” is fulfilled through “the eschatology of redemption” in Jesus Christ. The “Golden Chain” of Ordo Salutis and the progress of redemptive history will be interpreted from the perspectives of covenant, eschatology, and Christology.
