Ebby was different than other dwarf teens. Her nose was too small, she hardly had any facial or knuckle hair plus she barely had any extra meat or girth to her. The other dwarves found her to be quite unappealing (and that was being polite.) To complicate matters Ebby didn't like mining or jewel crafting like other dwarves. Instead she preferred to spend her time reading and studying lore and other languages and even mushrooms. Her mother hoped she would grow out of this. Her father did his best to make excuses for her. To get away Ebby would travel deep into the caves to explore. One day, while extra sad, Ebby travels deeper in the caverns than ever before. Ebby discovers an insomniac dragon named Boshazzwharash, Bo for short. Ebby's interest in and gift with languages allows her to communicate Bo. The two are both fascinated and scared of each other. (Admittedly Ebby is more scared than Bo, who is mostly scared he may slip and eat her.) Ebby sneaks back day after day to visit Bo. The two start to become close friends. Bo tells Ebby how it weird he doesn't sense any of his sleeping kin nearby. Ebby learns that some of her people have been killing the sleeping dragons for their meet. Ebby makes it her duty to save the dragons by awakening them so they can escape. Ebby to wake the dragons either before they are wiped out or awaken on their own and decide to destroy the dwarves... Can Ebby succeed in making the dangerous journey and saving the dragons from extinction and her people from a bloody war?____Similiar books: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Eragon, Terry Brooks series, Dragonlance, The Hobbit Smaug, Dragon Rider, Seraphina, Dragonflight, Temeraire, Dealing with Dragons and more. Don’t Wake the Dragon is a fantastic and interactive bedtime story featuring a sound-asleep dragon who under no circumstances is to be woken up! Children are tasked with checking in on the sleeping dragon as the castle cook drops his pots and pans and when the knights throw a loud birthday party. It isn’t until the whole kingdom settles down that the dragon wakes up. What is the kingdom to do? Designed to be read aloud and interacted with, parents will take pleasure in the playful text as much as children will enjoy gently rocking the book from side to side as they sing the dragon a lullaby. When the story finally comes to an end, and the gentle lullaby is repeated, the dragon (and the child!) is encouraged to drift off to sleep. The whimsical and colorful illustrations enable the dragon to jump off the page and will delight the reader with its humor and personality on every page. Creates a wonderful bedtime ritual with children that they will look forward to every night.

A new vision of knights, dragons, and the fair maiden caught in between . . . Four decades of peace have done little to ease the mistrust between humans and dragons in the kingdom of Goredd. Folding themselves into human shape, dragons attend court as ambassadors, and lend their rational, mathematical minds to universities as scholars and teachers. As the treaty's anniversary draws near, however, tensions are high. Seraphina has reason to fear both sides. An unusually gifted musician, she joins the court just as a member of the royal family is murdered. While a sinister plot to destroy the peace is uncovered, Seraphina struggles to protect the secret behind her musical gift, one so terrible that its discovery could mean her very life. Seraphina's tortuous journey to self-acceptance will make a magical, indelible impression on its readers.

A New York Times Notable Book: “Combining cyberpunk’s grit with dystopic fantasy, this iconoclastic hybrid is a standout piece of storytelling” (Library Journal). Jane is trapped as a changeling in an industrialized Faerie ruled by aristocratic high elves and populated by ogres, dwarves, night-gaunts, and hags. She is the only human in a factory where underage forced labor builds cybernetic, magical dragons that are weaponized and sent off to war. When the damaged dragon Melanchthon tempts Jane with promises of freedom, the stage is set for a daring escape that will shake the foundations of existence. Combining alchemy and technology, a coming-of-age story like no other, The Iron Dragon’s Daughter takes place against a dystopic mindscape of dark challenges and class struggles that force Jane to make costly decisions at every turn. A finalist for the Arthur C. Clarke Award, the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel, and the 1994 Locus Award, The Iron Dragon’s Daughter a is one-of-a-kind melding of grimdark fantasy and cyberpunk grit from the Nebula Award–winning author of Stations of the Tide. It engages the reader in a nihilistic world in which nothing is as it seems and everything comes at a steep and often horrific price.

'A daring blend of romance, crime and history, and an intelligent exposé of the inherent injustice and consequences of all forms of oppression' Tsitsi Dangarembga, Nervous Conditions Opening with the shooting of Lady Virginia 'Ginie' Courtauld in her tranquil garden in 1950s Rhodesia, The Dragon Lady tells Ginie's extraordinary story, so called for the exotic tattoo snaking up her leg. From the glamorous Italian Riviera before the Great War to the Art Deco glory of Eltham Palace in the thirties, and from the secluded Scottish Highlands to segregated Rhodesia in the fifties, the narrative spans enormous cultural and social change. Lady Virginia Courtauld was a boundary-breaking, colourful and unconventional person who rejected the submissive role women were expected to play. Ostracised by society for being a foreign divorcée at the time of Edward VIII and Mrs Simpson, Ginie and her second husband ,Stephen Courtauld, leave the confines of post-war Britain to forge a new life in Rhodesia, only to find that being progressive liberals during segregation proves mortally dangerous. Many people had reason to dislike Ginie, but who had reason enough to pull the trigger? Deeply evocative of time and place, The Dragon Lady subtly blends fact and fiction to paint the portrait of an extraordinary woman in an era of great social and cultural change.
