Some two thousand years later, people are still confused about the term "born again," though more people than ever claim to have had the experience. In this booklet, Dr. R.C. Sproul cuts through the confusion and carefully explains what it means to be born again. Dr. Sproul affirms that the new birth is essential for salvation and goes on to show that this regeneration is a sovereign work of God in our hearts. The Crucial Questions booklet series by Dr. R.C. Sproul offers succinct answers to important questions often asked by Christians and thoughtful inquirers.

DOWNLOAD EBOOK →Excerpt from The Divine Life and the New Birth: With a Supplement on the Incarnation Two pamphlet editions of a material portion of this work, under the same title, were published in 1850. The same portion was afterwards incorporated into the volume entitled "Search of Truth." The original work, and some other of the more practical parts of the volume just named, form the basis of the present publication. To these materials large additions have been made upon kindred branches of Christian knowledge, with the hope that the whole will prove to be a Manual adapted to the needs of our time. For the reception of my first efforts by the Church at large, and by many of her most gifted sons, I have been profoundly grateful. Much of the opposition which these publications encountered proceeded from local disturbances which have long since passed away, and the rest, I think, from misapprehensions growing out of the excited temper of the times. Contention and party spirit may hardly ever be expected to cease from the Church, yet the perils of the present day have produced a very general conviction that Christians must come closer together to strive successfully for the faith once delivered. It is hoped, therefore, that all will welcome the feeblest effort to add to the unity and strength of the Christian host, and to furnish a guide to inquiring souls. The Holy Spirit empowers us, guides us, and enables us to grow and endure in our relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ. Often the most misunderstood member of the Trinity, the person of the Spirit continues to attract attention today amidst church revivals and renewals. In this new edition of his classic Keep in Step with the Spirit, J. I. Packer seeks to help Christians reaffirm the biblical call to holiness and the Spirit s role in keeping our covenant with God. Packer guides us through the riches and depth of the Spirit s work, assesses versions of holiness and the charismatic life, and shows how Christ must always be at the centre of true Spirit-led ministry. A new chapter explores Christian assurance. With abiding relevance and significance, Keep in Step with the Spirit sets forth vital knowledge for healthy and joyous Christian living, through understanding and experience of God the Holy Spirit. DOWNLOAD EBOOK →The single most important event in a person's life is the new birth. Yet, this is also one of the most neglected doctrines in the church. Many Christians would be hard-pressed to describe exactly what the new birth is, let alone what it means to the rest of their walk with God. What happens when we are born again? Does everything in our lives change immediately? Is it just a kind of spiritual do-over, a chance to get it right this time? What happens when we fail? Does it mean we weren't really born again to begin with? With a pastor's heart and a professor's insight, Steven Lawson carefully examines the encounter between Jesus and Nicodemus found in John 3 to uncover the nature of this spiritual rebirth. He shows you the necessity of the new birth, how God changes our hearts through it, and what follows after, from baptism and involvement in a local church to handling doubts and setbacks. This book is perfect for believers who want to understand what happened when they believed and for non-Christians who are curious about what a new life in Christ is all about.

DOWNLOAD EBOOK →In this compelling study of the birth and infancy of Jesus, Robert Miller separates fact from fiction in the gospel narratives and relates them to stories about the miraculous births of Israelite heroes and of Greek and Roman sons of God. Born Divine analyzes the Christian claim that the birth and childhood of Jesus fulfilled Old Testament prophecies. The historical and theological dimensions of the virgin birth tradition are discussed with honesty and insight. This wide-ranging book also presents additional infancy gospels from the second century through the Middle Ages.

DOWNLOAD EBOOK →Redemption for all of humanity has been made available to all through one Man—Jesus Christ. Salvation is a free and unmerited gift to man from the throne of grace. Nonetheless, the price of the cross was, indeed, costly. A true relationship with God— through—Jesus Christ involves more than following a "free-style" doctrine. Jesus said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (Jn. 3:3). The immediate goal of being born-again is to see the Kingdom of God. Yet, there is an issue of blindness among believers that must be resolved. It is not enough be saved, join a church, or even to become a missionary, although these are noble things. Undeniably, there is a distinct journey for each individual in Christ, but one thing that applies to all Christians is the need for obedient adherence to the principles in the Scriptures. While some may practice a permissive theology, the true sons and daughters of God ought not to "cherry-pick" through the Scriptures to find what they are willing to apply in their own lives. Reject one part of the Word of God and you must reject it all—or else—embrace it all and live it! The institutional church, with its numerous denominations, has no soul to be transformed, but each believer does. Jesus died to save individual believers not denominational entities. God adopts common individuals and they become His unique sons and daughters. The Mystery and Miracle of New Birth is for believers who desire to know and practice sound biblical doctrine—because doctrine matters.
