Excerpt from The Christian Union Quarterly, Vol. 15: Interdenominational and International; July, 1925, to April, 1926 This journal is the organ of no party other than those, growing up in all parties, who are interested in the Unity Of the Church of Christ. Its pages are free to all indications of Christian Unity and Ventures of Faith. It maintains that, whether so accepted or not, all Christians - Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Angli can, Protestant, and all others who accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour - are parts Of the Church of Christ, and that the Unity Of his disciples is the paramount issue of modern times. Such a journal must, necessarily, be unofficial in its attempt to be an Interpreter of the mind Of the churches and in furnishing a Forum for better understanding and cordial appreciation be tween the divided, and sometimes far isolated, communions of Christendom. It, thereby, seeks to contribute something to clear the way to the Altar of Reconciliation. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Excerpt from The Christian Union Quarterly, Vol. 7: July, 1917 Once union appeared to be largely a theological prob lem, but students are now seeing it has clearly as much. To do with psychology, for our differences in many in stances are temperamental. Into this field we must go cautiously, seeking to adjust our differences by tempera ment rather than by theology. Perhaps more than the ology or psychology is the necessity of the higher ethical standard. The scandal of our pride, conceit, love of self, jealousy and other works of the flesh are known around the world. These must be got rid of, as the drunkard gets rid of his drunkenness, the fornicator of his forni cation and the idolater of his idolatry. These are the great sms that are barriers far above all the theological or psychological differences, so the emphasis 'of these times must be upon the fundamentals of the religion of Christ rather than upon secondary issues. Excerpt from The Christian Union Quarterly, 1934, Vol. 23 Instead of helping in adventures toward brother hood every last one of these hundreds of denominations is struggling separately to witness for Jesus as though that particular brand is essential to the life of Chris tianity, while all the time Christianity is lying upon its bed, sick almost unto death because of this plague of a divided Christendom, some so rigidly staying away from other Christians, that they are choking to death the Spirit of Jesus. However well the denominations have prospered it must not be forgot that a divided Christendom is doomed.
