Here, too, fortunately, such determinations by use of the haemacytometer would have added nothing of practical value, since the cases were of such well marked character as to render the use of this more delicate aid to diagnosis unneces sary. On cow No. 3 an attempt was made to obtain a count of the corpuscles, but the carrying out of such work with an un ruly cow for a subject, and in the open an exposed to sun and wind, is much more difficult than is a similar determination at the bedside of the human patient, or in the laboratory.
