Do you know someone who lives in a haunted house? What would you do if you moved into a haunted house? The story you are about to read is true. In fact it is the story of me and my family. I decided I wanted to move but where should I move to. I decided maybe I should leave the city and look further up north. I never expected to come this far up but here we are. They always say you never know what you're looking for until it hits you. One rainy Saturday morning I took the trip Upstate a three hour drive one way to meet with the real estate lady for another day of house hunting. This day I found the house I was looking for, or did it find me? Why I say this is because this is the house that I and my children said we didn't want when she had sent us the pictures over the internet. When the family and I went to meet with the real estate lady and the house inspector something happened that caught our attention as well as the attention of the real estate lady. I don't think we were wanted here. The Spirits did many things to send us away. I didn't get flustered too quickly though. I knew I needed help with this problem but who would I call. Now my hunt was on, I knew I needed to contact the paranormal society to get help. I started going through the internet. I found a chapter in Pennsylvania that was able to help me. Join me as I tell our story of what life is like in a home inhabited by Spirits. It's certainly never dull. I am a single mother of two children ages now 7 and 12 who wasn't happy in her environment or surroundings. My home life, my job, my neighborhood were all getting me down. I wanted out of everything. I took a big chance moving away from my family. My in laws also took a chance with me. I was making a new start for myself, my children and my in laws. I was scared not knowing where I would end up. It took me a year of house hunting, trying to find a home that I could afford. Searching in Queens or Brooklyn was impossible the prices there were astronomical. I always take chances in my life and usually stand on my feet like a cat in the end. This house wasn't on my list of possibilities but here I am two years later with a story to tell.

'Holy Spirit and Religious Experience' seeks to find out how far the centrality of the Holy Spirit in Christian experience during the earliest period of the church was maintained or diminished in the third to the fifth generations (ca. AD 90-200). Three themes are explored. First, the sense of encounter with the divine presence, the numinous, a sense of being caught up into the divine being or being overwhelmed by the One who is beyond us. Secondly, a sense of being illuminated in respect to the truth, given deeper understanding of God's purpose, whether for the individual or the congregation, or guided in decision-making. Thirdly, a sense of ethical empowerment, an awareness of being helped by divine power, assisted in a course of action or development of character, in grappling with temptation, or in the ultimate test of loyalty, martyrdom. This book is arranged geographically, from Syria and Asia Minor in the East to Rome and Gaul in the West, including North Africa and Egypt. Christian authors within these areas are examined chronologically, from the later New Testament writers through the second century to Clement of Alexandria and Tertullian of Carthage, for the evidence they supply. The variegated picture which emerges, it is contended, reflects second-century Christianity.

‘Superbly written, utterly Bible based. . . Do not hesitate!’ Archbishop Justin Welby What are we supposed to think about the coronavirus crisis? Some people think they know: ‘This is a sign of the End,’ they say. ‘It’s all predicted in the book of Revelation.’ Others disagree but are equally clear: ‘This is a call to repent. God is judging the world and through this disease he’s telling us to change.’ Some join in the chorus of blame and condemnation: ‘It’s the fault of the Chinese, the government, the World Health Organization...' Tom Wright examines these reactions to the virus and finds them wanting. Instead, he invites you to consider a different way of seeing and responding – a way that draws on the teachings and examples of scripture, and above all on the way of living, thinking and praying revealed to us by Jesus.

Spirit Speaks. Are You Listening? follows the remarkable spiritual journey of a woman who knew from early childhood that she had a wise and true voice within that spoke to her from realms beyond. Valerie Croce Stiehl outlines a life path every one of us can take if we long for inner peace and fulfillment. Hers are words to live by, road signs that can be followed readily no matter where you are on your path. She tells of her early years as the suddenly single mother of five children; years of deprivation as she worked and went to school and struggled to put food on the table for her family; a later executive career in Manhattan; a transforming Near Death Experience as a result of a devastating car crash; and a decade living on an Indian reservation in South Dakota. Those experiences forged a woman of towering strength, love and purpose guided surely by Spirit. It has been said of her by a spiritual teacher that she lives in a state of grace. This book confirms the fact. Enlightened, deeply spiritual, and most welcome, Spirit Speaks' fulfills the seeker's quest for truths both mundane and ethereal. Swami Bhimasen - Sivanda Ashram, India Valerie shares with us connectedness to the universe, not unlike Nicholas Black Elk, who, like her, left behind a comfortable world to seek truth and beauty in the natural spiritualism of Native American culture. There is a tradition that certain subjects are sacred and can never become matters of scientific inquiry. One of these ineffable subjects is the relationship of God to man in the highest ranges of human experience, particularly in those beatific moments when, in expectant solitude or social worship, the soul communes with the Father. But in these self-conscious days psychology has been triumphantly carried into all fields, and if psychological descriptions have sometimes been irreverent it is a question, not of retreat, but of the analysis which affords the most appreciative description. The success which has attended the psychology of religion shows that very much is to be gained by undertaking an account of the higher experiences of men. What must be said in behalf of the sacred or ineffable may be added when science has achieved its utmost. In the following pages I have ventured to mediate between science and religion by endeavoring to be appreciatively true to the everlasting realities of the religious life while taking account of and passing beyond the results attained by modern psychology. If no subject should more deeply inspire our reverence than that of the presence of God, none is more worthy of our thought. Accordingly I offer what I believe to be a contribution to the study of problems which pertain to a field midway between the philosophy of religion and constructive idealism. Advocates of various points of view may meet in this common field to study questions that are rightfully prior to the development of their special views. Each may make such qualification as he will, but all must be concerned with the issues here shown to be fundamental.
