Do not deceive yourselves; God is not mocked: for whatever a man sows that shall he also reap. For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that sows in the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life. (Galatians 6:7-8) We can't get away from the principle of reaping what we sow. If we sow good seed, we anticipate a great harvest. But if we sow weeds, we'll harvest no more than we sowed. The same is true spiritually and practically. If we want a reward in heaven, we must live for Christ. On the other hand, if we lie, cheat, swear, steal, get drunk, use drugs, or otherwise fulfill the lusts of the flesh, the reality is we'll pay the consequences both now and in eternity. No matter how much society tries to convince us otherwise, this law has proven to be true without fail. This is the bright truth held before us in this little book – if we sow good seed, we will reap a great harvest. While sowing and caring for the seed sown isn't without work, the promise of a great harvest is what keeps us going and what brings joy to our labors. Be assured that it is not in vain to spend much time pruning, weeding, and carefully watching over the garden of your heart and the hearts of those you love.

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting." Galatians vi: 7, 8. I think this passage contains truths that no infidel or sceptic will dare to deny. There are some passages in the Word of God that need no other proof than that which we can easily find in our daily experience. This is one of them. If the Bible were to be blotted out of existence, the words I have quoted would be abundantly verified by what is constantly happening around us. We have only to take up the daily papers to see them being fulfilled before our eyes. I remember giving out this text once when a man stood right up in the audience and said: "I don't believe it."

Everything in creation was designed to function on the principle of receiving and releasing while the duty of sowing and reaping determines the level of what one contributes to and gets in life. Everything God has created is for a purpose with the inherent ability or potential to fulfill the purpose, which is the end for which the means exists. Discovering this innate potential and working it out maximally to fulfill life purpose is the responsibility of every one. Sowing this seed of destiny calls for responsibility, the duty of knowing the frame of man, how his spirit, soul and body are designed to operate, his depraved condition after the fall, restoration of God's life (Zoe) to him through the redemption provided by the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the laws, principles and statutes of God and the consequences of breaking them as clearly written in the Holy Bible. Lack of clear understanding of God's plan and purpose for one's life and the manipulation of the prince of the air, through the activities of false prophets and many religious leaders in the body of Christ have continued to be a major challenge to right and effective sowing and reaping. Hence, this study is carried out to throw more light on the demands and requirements for effective sowing and reaping for maximum result. Sowing and reaping determines the quantum and type of all that a person can achieve in life. Every day one is sowing one seed or the other either by one's thought, word or action, The right seed sown produces fruit in time, a fulfillment of one's God-given life purpose, that impacts the life of both the Sower and others as well. In Luke 8:4-15, the seed sown is called the word of God. To sow is "to plant seed" while to reap is "to gather a crop." What you reap or gather is always a product of what you sow. For whatever a man sows that and that only is what he will reap. For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.(Gal.6:7-8 Amp) The above verse is a timeless truth concerning sowing and reaping. After the fall of Adam and Eve, the source of humanity, the Spirit of God left man, thus losing the life and glory of God, and fellowship with Him. Life in the Spirit enjoyed in the garden of Eden, paradise, came to an abrupt end, thus man started groping in the wilderness of the earth. God, in His mercy, then killed animals and used the skins to make garments with which He covered the nakedness of Adam and Eve, while the blood, as a temporary measure, atoned for their sin. However, the blood of bulls and goat could not take away sin (Heb. 10:4). It was just a shadow not the very image of the good things to come through the Lord Jesus Christ (Heb. 10:11), the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world (Rev. 13:8). Consequently, God in mercy, chose the house of Israel, beginning from Abraham, their progenitor with whom he made covenant (Gen.12:1-4). Israel, God's own people was to be a model to other people of the earth (Dt. 7:6-11). The first covenant was faulty, hence a place was sought for a second one (Heb. 8:7-12). The first covenant had its commandments written and engraved on stone, with its glory passing away. Its letter also kills (2 Cor. 3:6-7). The Jews could not keep the Law (John 7:19), they were practicing a formal religion, Judaism. Religion is what man does in an attempt to please God. In the new covenant, the laws of God are put in the minds and written in the hearts of all born again believers as it was before the fall of Adam and Eve. The Holy Spirit now controls believers from within (Rom. 8:14), serving God on His own terms and conditions, through the Lord Jesus Christ. Glory to God...

Paul's letter to the Galatians is one of the most beautiful ever written, showing us the good news of the gospel, thereby magnifying God's great love to the human race. The author of this book, Dr. Ellet J. Waggoner, was not only an excellent physician but an evangelist and co-editor of The Signs of the Times. At the 1888 Minneapolis General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, young E. J. Waggoner delivered a series of lectures on the book of Galatians. The message of salvation only by faith in Jesus Christ was Martin Luther's great theme out of which was born the Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century. The Glad Tidings reemphasizes this wonderful message and portrays the righteousness of Christ.

God is radically dedicated to our ongoing growth in spiritual maturity and holiness. This is both glorious and terrifying. It is glorious because the Lord of heaven and earth is for us. But it is terrifying because we are idolaters. This means that when God brings greater redemption into our lives he also brings a death sentence to our fallen desires. In love, God will do whatever it takes - even tearing us to shreds if necessary - to replace our feeble pleasures with lasting desire for himself. Sadly, in our culture two false responses to suffering have become deeply embedded in the Church: deadly dualism and shallow stoicism. Each can effectively hijack God's good purpose in suffering. Torn to Heal equips us to understand and reject these false and self-defeating approaches to suffering, and to embrace God's good purpose in our trials.
