Soul in the Game is a book of inspiring stories and hard-won lessons on how to live a meaningful life, crafted by investor and writer Vitaliy Katsenelson. Drawing from the lives of classical composers, ancient Stoics, and contemporary thinkers, Katsenelson weaves together a tapestry of practical wisdom that has helped him overcome his greatest challenges: in work, family, identity, health—and in dealing with success, failure, and more. Part autobiography, part philosophy, part creativity manual, Soul in the Game is a unique and vulnerable exploration of what works, and what doesn’t, in the attempt to shape a fulfilling and happy life.

The world of golf is at a crossroads. As technological innovations displace traditional philosophies, the golfing community has splintered into two deeply combative factions: the old-school teachers and players who believe in feel, artistry, and imagination, and the technical minded who want to remake the game around data. In Golf's Holy War, Brett Cyrgalis takes readers inside the heated battle playing out from weekend hackers to PGA Tour pros. At the Titleist Performance Institute in Oceanside, California, golfers clad in full-body sensors target weaknesses in their biomechanics, while others take part in mental exercises designed to test their brain's psychological resilience. Meanwhile, coaches like Michael Hebron purge golfers of all technical information, tapping into the power of intuitive physical learning by playing rudimentary games. From historic St. Andrews to manicured Augusta, experimental communes in California to corporatized conferences in Orlando, William James to Ben Hogan to theoretical physics, the factions of the spiritual and technical push to redefine the boundaries of the game.

I had been getting messages from psychics for some time that I should do some writing. That prompted me to create a small website page with spiritual insights in 2012. More recently, I started getting e-mail prompts and deadline notices about an online book writing class offered by psychic medium James Van Praagh whose books and television show I was familiar with. After ignoring about six e-mail prompts, I was in Traverse City, Michigan, on vacation, when I thought it would be fun to get a psychic reading there. The psychic told me, among other things, that my guides on the "other side" wanted me to do some more writing. I took this as a signal that I should join the online class, which had a deadline to join two days after my reading. So I sent in the money, and after much soul-searching, Soul Licensed: Tips and Tales resulted two years later (long after the class ended). It had occurred to me that there are many people I know who seemed to lack any hope for something after this lifetime. Everyone was out to complete physical goals or have fun without any true belief about there being an afterlife. I had learned from my experiences that there was a very good reason to enjoy our lives here...and look forward to much more than what was visible on this planet. So I thought I would write this book sharing some of my interactions with spirits, energy, and psychics and offer my wisdom on how to create a healthier, more peaceful existence. You, the reader, can then take that information, in addition to the many clues (including license plate messages) that we get daily from the "other side" and discover your own reality. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have enjoyed this process and living this life with daily reminders that we are never alone in this sphere. Have a wonderful journey!

Have you ever been aghast at God’s scheme of things? Have you ever felt helpless in the midst of all pervasive inequity and not being able to do anything? Ever felt like throttling the throats of those sophists who coo in your ears, “Oh the world is sooooo beautiful! Live in the present, as it’s a gift” kind of inane homilies, and get into a mood to smash a few things, blurt out profanities, or worse, get into depression? The book tries to capture such moods and reflects on them to try and fathom His apparent ways. It starts with positive euphoria, dwells into texts to find solace, reflects deeply as to what can be done to find peace, and slowly gets to a realization that things will continue to just “be”. Surrendering to His will in perfect understanding and without that “oh but the grapes are sour” kind of mindset, but yet being actively aware, would indeed be a sane if not sole option. “Que Sera Sera, whatever will be, will be”. Read on, for the journey towards “realization” to unfold; allegorically comparing our life cycle to a Snakes and Ladders board game of ups and downs, euphoria and frustration, agonies and ecstasies, all of which abound till you reach home.
