THE DIVINE INTERVENTION OF GOD IN HUMAN TRIUMPH! Many of us may not be aware of how divine interventions work to change adverse circumstances surrounding our lives. It seems to me that God who created us in His own image also continues to shape the events in our lives. The author of this book is Rev. James Abolarin, who, by the grace of Christ, has overcome many odds in this world. Each year of his life tells a different story of how God has helped him to overcome adversities. The Lord has made him an asset in the body of Christ as he wants to teach you how to fight and succeed as you go through the journey of life. He has found out that it is never the will of God that believers live their lives defeated, but instead, they should be more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. Every new year possesses enormous challenges to many of us in this world. These challenges are very real and unavoidable. If anyone thinks that eluding these challenges will make life easier, such an individual is living in a fantasy land. Jesus came to this world. He was confronted with challenges, being the Lord and the Creator of the universe. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. —Colossians 1:15–20 The incarnation of Jesus as God in human flesh was to send the message of God’s divine intervention in the affairs of men in order to set things straight in our lives. This has been part of God’s plan for the world when He spoke to Abraham many times. Emmanuel, in the book of Matthew 1, means God is with us. It demonstrated a new era of God’s willingness to save the oppressed. Over several years in my ministry, I have come face-to-face with many challenges that have dented my life both positively and, unfortunately, negatively as well. However, enlisting Christ in my battles in life has made all things work the best for me without regret. I live with full assurance of a better tomorrow and not in despair because of the confidence I have in Christ as a Christian. According to the book of Romans 8:28, all things work together for good. Just read the verse below. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Those who are not spiritually enlightened are often argued against God’s divine interventions because their spiritual eyes are darkened. I have learned many lessons through life challenges and have grown tremendously in experiences because of these challenges. During my ups and downs in life, I have seen a lot of miracles. I am a prayerful man, and I am always hungry for the truth. For example, my wife and I just returned from “A Deeper Life Convention of 2012.” We were richly blessed from all the messages we heard, especially those that were pungently delivered by our father in the Lord, Rev. W. F. Kumuyi. In fact, we came back to the USA fired up to do more exploit for Christ this year. We have unwavering conviction that this year will be the beginning of a new thing in our ministry. Upon returning to the United States, the first Sunday worship was very good. People were happy that we came back safely, and they clapped their hands for Jesus Christ. I always consider it an honor when people appreciate their ministers in such a way. The challenge is how to deepen their love for Christ this year so they can do t

Dig deeper into the processes of growing your own organic food with Liz Zorab, self-sufficiency practitioner. In this personal gardening journey, she explores seasonal harvests and how the vegetable garden sits within the wider context of the gardening landscape – including weather, microclimates, water cycles, light levels, seasons and the gardener’s personal tastes. Liz’s salt of the earth approach to life and to the garden and her gentle humor makes The Seasoned Gardener an easily digestible read. She provides hundreds of practical tips, including how-to guides, observations and inspiration for both the beginner and practiced gardener alike. Unlike many gardening books that run from January to December, this book starts in the autumn, when harvesting is at its peak. Most of the fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers highlighted are grouped according to when we enjoy them most – at the point of harvest. The Seasoned Gardener will show you how to: Enjoy the abundance of each month of the year Decide which plants are best to grow in your garden Find pleasure in your growing space year-round Avoid the pitfalls of doing too much at once Be creative with your garden resources Make the most of your time and energy Celebrate nature’s productivity as much as your own. This is a journey of experimentation and learning that will inspire you to grow tastier food and savor the experience.

This collection of essays probes the values in a variety of authors who have had in common the fact of popularity and erstwhile reputation. Why were they esteemed? Who esteemed them? And what has become of their reputations, to readers, to the critic himself? No writer here has been asked to justify the work of his subject, and reports and conclusions about this wide variety of creative writers vary, sometimes emphasizing what the critic believes to be enduring qualities in the subject, in several cases finding limitations in what that writer has to offer us today.

I have written on the importance of greeting and honoring each season in order to deepen one’s spirituality. It took me years of wanting to do this earnestly myself, to be able to understand what a diff erence it makes between existing and living a full life in tune with the God of all seasons. I try to reach out to all those who, like me, would love to have more time to appreciate the subtle changes each season brings and thereby “pay attention” to divine messages contained therein. What I discovered is what I want to share: It is a relatively simple transition to go from the blurry passage of time to slowing down just long enough to be a Noticer! I especially want to share this discovery with those of the younger generation of adults who it seems to me are so hungry for meaning and purpose. In the book, which I tentatively entitled, “A Seasoned Life,” I try to describe the gift of each season, what to notice, and how to greet it, honor it, “keep” it, and how learning to do that enriches our lives. Each chapter ends with a few poems and songs that celebrate it, decorating ideas that help greet that season, and recipes that have been longtime favorites I look forward to each time that season rolls around. Becoming a grandmother was an opportunity to pass on to my two grandsons and three granddaughters the many simple and delightful ways I slow down long enough to enjoy each approaching and lasting season. Th is book is an opportunity to expand the number of people I could gift with these practices beyond my children, grandchildren, and former students, retreat participants and spiritual directees. My hope is that younger readers of the book might discover the richness of what I propose long before the age I was when I finally understood its wisdom!
