Prophecy Unfulfilled represents a continuation of the author’s quest for the truth of God, by firstly uncovering the untruths that he had been taught during his formative years as a Catholic. Earlier works focused on the claimed new (replacement) covenant, the rejection of the Sabbath, and the rejection of Torah. Using the rules of evidence as in a court of law, this study seeks to evaluate the claimed messianic prophecy fulfillment by Jesus, some two thousand years ago. The first part of the book discusses the nature of evidence and how the rules regarding written evidence vary significantly from those of oral evidence, the latter being used most often by biblical scholars and Christian apologists. The first step is to authenticate the extant documents by examining the chain of custody and, thus, establish authority. Next is to authenticate the attributed authorship of the writings, to determine whether the authors were firsthand witnesses of the events they described, or whether their narratives are hearsay, with or without corroboration. Where little verbal agreement is found, this is circumstantial evidence of separate traditions developing the resultant theology. The study proceeds by examining every verse in the NKJV (New King James Version) of the New Testament that is annotated as being in fulfillment of prophecy, comparing the wording against both the NKJV Old Testament and an English translation of the Hebrew scriptures. Where significant variations exist, the author seeks an understanding from New Testament scholars, whom he frequently quotes. The eschatological temper of the early church is given due consideration, especially concerning the expectations of the Jews regarding the mission of the Messiah. Finally, the accomplishments of Jesus, as enshrined in Christian creeds, is compared with what is spoken of by the prophets. The author’s conclusion is encapsulated in the book’s title.

For a number of years it was the difficult yet delightful task of the author to interpret the Prophetical Books of the Old Testament to successive classes of theological students. This made it necessary for him to make a decision of the utmost importance. Should he, in accordance with the time-tested belief of the Church, instruct his students that the kingdom prophecies of the Old Testament Church have their fulfillment in large measure in the New Testament Church? Or, should he follow the relatively new and decidedly revolutionary teaching commonly called Dispensationalism and declare that these prophecies Òskip overÓ the Church age and will be literally fulfilled in a Jewish kingdom age which will follow it? These were the alternatives between which he found himself obliged to choose. His decision and the reason for it are set forth in this volume.

“You will have the privilege to see and to participate in the most glorious and mightiest sweeping revival that has ever been known in Christian history!” —Smith Wigglesworth This revelation was part of a prophecy given in 1936 by legendary evangelist and healing minister Smith Wigglesworth to a young man named David du Plessis. The revival Wigglesworth foresaw was a continuation of the Pentecostal movement into the charismatic renewal that continues to this day. Later, in 1961, God gave Rev. Tommy Hicks a vision of the continuation of that revival: a worldwide movement in which the “Awakening Giant”—the body of Christ—receives spiritual power and authority on such a scale as has not been seen since the book of Acts. This book retells these two amazing prophecies in their entirety and also discusses their implications for the world today. The revival of God’s church continues, but it won’t be complete until every Spirit-filled believer understands his or her unique role in its fulfillment. Study these prophecies and ask God to reveal how He would use you to bring the greatest revival in history to completion.

Protestant reformers found the prophet and biblical prophecy to be exceptionally effective for framing their reforming work under the authority of Scripture-for the true prophet speaks the Word of God alone and calls the people, their worship, and their beliefs and practices back to the Word of God. uses the prophet and biblical prophecy as a powerful lens through which to view many aspects of the reformers in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. G. Sujin Pak argues that these prophetic concepts served the substantial purposes of articulating a theology of the priesthood of all believers, a biblical model of the pastoral office, a biblical vision of the reform of worship, and biblical processes for discerning right interpretation of Scripture. Pak demonstrates the ways in which understandings of the prophet and biblical prophecy contributed to the formation of distinct confessional identities. She goes on to demonstrate the waning of explicit prophetic terminology, particularly among the next generation of Protestant leadership. Eventually, she shows, the Protestant reformers concluded that the figure of the prophet carried with it as many problems as it did benefits, though they continued to give much time and attention to the exegesis of biblical prophetic writings.

“The whole world of nature appears in our day to be in revolt, with all her unprecedented disturbances. And how clearly are the nations preparing by granting unrestrained powers to individual men, such as we note in Russia, Germany, Italy, and in our own country,—all preparing for the one man prophesied by our Lord in John 5:43: ‘I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive Me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.’ We are surely in the world-age of the feet of iron mixed with miry clay of Daniel’s image. “Let me repeat that this book, so full of spiritual meat and helpful, illustrative anecdotes, so interesting while so splendidly setting forth these vital, scattered Bible teachings, is destined to reach many hearts and to build up many Christians in a more vital, Spirit-filled faith.” —From the Introduction by Howard A. After twenty years of research, Dr. J. Barton Payne has compiled the one complete guide to Biblical prophecy. From the prediction of Adam's death in Genesis 2: 17 to the prophecy of mankind's perpetual worship of God in the new heaven and earth (Psalm 72:5), the ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BIBLICAL PROPHECY discusses every verse of prophetic matter in Scripture. It identifies every probable point of fulfillment whether in the past, present, or still in the future. The first 144 pages of the ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BIBLICAL PROPHECY set forth a systematic approach to the subject of Biblical prophecy and the legitimate place for prediction in it. The ENCYCLOPEDIA is arranged according to the 66 books of the Bible. In each book, all the verses on one prophetic theme are treated in one combined discussion. For example: The 12 verses of Genesis that foretell God's granting of the land of Canaan to the descendants of Abraham are discussed together. It is then shown how the promise was fulfilled in the days of Joshua. One of the ENCYCLOPEDIA'S concluding summaries lists all the 737 major subjects that appear in Biblical prediction, with the books and paragraphs in which each is found. This way, each prophecy can be traced from its first appearance in the Bible to its last. Among the many features is a complete list of all the Scriptural prophecies pertaining to Christ. No other book has ever examined Biblical prophecy so thoroughly or presented it in such a balanced perspective as the ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BIBLICAL PROPHECY. •1,817 entries covering all the Biblical predictions in both the Old and New Testaments •A complete discussion of all 8,352 predictive verses in the Bible •14 tables, including three on the Book of Revelation •Bibliography •4 summaries •4 statistical appendixes •5 complete indexes An indispensable tool for students of the Bible, for students in theological seminaries and Bible colleges, for pastors as a reference guide, and for concerned lay people. The ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BIBLICAL PROPHECY is certain to bring a fresh understanding and rewarding insights of the bible.

Teachings of God’s Grace, His Character, and Christ’s Coming Return Letters to the early church have inspired Christians for thousands of years. From the relationship between the New Covenant and the Old Covenant in Hebrews, to the practical wisdom of James, to the warnings of Jude, each of these epistles has much to tell us about following Christ today. This exposition looks at what these letters teach us about God’s character, His relationship with His people, and His call for our commitment. The authors also help us better understand the book of Revelation—one of the most misunderstood books of the Bible. Though Revelation is often daunting to laypeople and scholars alike, The Bible Knowledge Commentary gives life-changing insight into the interpretation, purpose, and application of this profound book. Together, the later epistles and the book of Revelation offer explanations of God’s ancient truths and hope for a world to come.
