A novel based on the true story of the struggle Charles Dickens faced during the winter of 1843 while writing his now-classic holiday tale, A Christmas Carol 1843, London. Though the approaching Christmas looks bleak at the home of the Dickens family, Charles and his pregnant wife Catherine try to maintain a good cheer for their four young children. Debts are mounting, food is scarce, and Charles' books—according to his miserly publisher—are no longer selling. Then Charles has an idea, which comes to him in the ghostly form of Oliver Cromwell, the long-dead, spirit-crushing, Lord Protector of England. A Christmas Carol will be Dickens' most brilliant work yet, both for its mass appeal and underlying political message. But many sinister forces oppose the success of this literary gem; and it is only through faith, kindness and the innate goodness of mankind that A Christmas Carol will become a timeless classic—and that the young writer Charles Dickens will truly save Christmas for all of England... Find the true story in A Midnight Carol by Patricia K. Davis, sure to become a brand new Christmas classic.

Hawai‘i author Chris McKinney’s first entry in a brilliant new sci-fi noir trilogy explores the sordid past of a murdered scientist, deified in death, through the eyes of a man who once committed unspeakable crimes for her. Year 2142: Earth is forty years past a near-collision with the asteroid Sessho-seki. Akira Kimura, the scientist responsible for eliminating the threat, has reached heights of celebrity approaching deification. But now, Akira feels her safety is under threat, so after years without contact, she reaches out to her former head of security, who has since become a police detective. When he arrives at her deep-sea home and finds Akira methodically dismembered, this detective will risk everything—his career, his family, even his own life—and delve back into his shared past with Akira to find her killer. With a rich, cinematic voice and burning cynicism, Midnight, Water City is both a thrilling neo-noir procedural and a stunning exploration of research, class, climate change, the cult of personality, and the dark sacrifices we are willing to make in the name of progress.

“Being kissed by Karl Jager was devastating. And beautiful. War makes you do dangerous things.” Hanna Mendel liked to know what was going to happen next. She was going to be a famous concert pianist. She was going to wear her yellow dress to the dance on Saturday night. But she didn’t plan on her street being turned into a ghetto. She didn’t plan on being rounded up and thrown in a cattle truck. She didn’t plan on spending her sixteenth birthday in Auschwitz, in a wooden barrack with 200 other prisoners. Most of all, Hanna didn’t plan on falling in love with the wrong boy. What happens when a Jewish girl falls in love with the German son of the camp commander? Award-winning Australian author Suzy Zail’s young adult fiction book, The Wrong Boy, paints a story of identity, romance, hate and loyalty alongside the historical backdrop of the Holocaust. This gripping novel about a teenage girl coming to terms with first love amid the confronting realities of a war-torn world will leave readers wanting more. After sixteen years of being deceived by Satan that I had committed the unpardonable sin, God gave me a dream one night and told me exactly what was wrong with my mind. Supernatural deliverance came as a great man of God prayed for me (T. L. Lowery) under a big tent with sawdust everywhere. God has called me to visit people who don't have long to live and share the gospel. Most thought they were ready to die but realized they were not saved. God would place them on my heart, and he would have their hearts prepared for his loving visitation to them, saving them from the fires of hell-that's what this book is about-quite a bunch of characters who accepted Christ and so many are already in heaven today. Some are still alive-anyone who gets saved is saved just in time. Good moral people, alcoholics, so many God has placed in my path, seeing Jesus in the rooms with them before death. If we will always keep our ears open to hear God 24/7, we will always hear his voice of instruction. This book also tells of my family's supernatural journeys to get to God. The dark fought us all the way. Daddy prayed to get saved-couldn't reach that point of faith-he lay back in bed and felt like a wooly worm was beginning to roll up his legs to get inside his heart. He cried out to God-it left and he became a Christian that 3:30 a.m. The devil tried the same tactic with me the night I was saved. Under a tent, starting to creep up my legs, telling me that the minister was going to tell me that I could never be saved because I had "gone too far."
