Paper 1: The method used by the Port of New York Authority to determine when a pavement should be resurfaced, the problems involved, and the materials used is discussed. Special problems arise when bridges, tunnels and in some cases airports, are to be resurfaced. Paper 2: Two papers were presented on a new type of resinous material for surfacing portland cement and bituminous concrete highways. This surfacing material, called relcote, utilizes a modified epon resin binder which, on the addition of a catalyst, sets chemically to a tough thermosetting plastic.
