In every place the people threw open their doors for the free entertainment of the teachers, and lecturers and by their cordial sympathy and constant attendance gave additional interest and value to the meetings. Every county has been visited by this instrumentality but Tolland, and the omission in that county was owing to circumstances beyond the control of the superintendent. The absence of an Institute was remedied so far as it could be by an arrangement to have every town visited, and the teachers, school officers and citizens addressed wherever an audience could be gathered.
