Excerpt from Report of the Secretary of State of the State of Florida: For the Period Beginning January 1, 1905, and Ending December 31, 1906 Under the provisions of Section 2218, of the Revised Statutes of the United States, all the records and archives of the United States Surveyor General's office, when dis continued, are to be turned over to the Secretary of State, or to some other officer duly appointed for the purpose and under further provisions of Section 222a, of the Revised Statutes of the United States, it is required that such records shall, in no case, ' be turned over to the authorities of the State until the State shall provide by law for their reception and safe keeping.
