Vincent Meggs (ca. 1583-1658) is said to have married a Churchill in 1606. He was the father of three sons, born in England, 1609-1614. He and his sons immigrated to America ca. 1635/36. They were living at Weymouth, Massachusetts, in 1639, and moved to New Haven, Connecticut, ca. 1644. He moved to New Guilford, Connecticut, with his son, John, in 1654. He died at New Guilford. Most descendants in the first four generations lived in Connecticut and spelled their surname Meigs.
