DOWNLOAD EBOOK →Pergamon Texts in Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 3: The Chemistry of Phosphorus focuses on the physical and chemical properties of phosphorus. This book discusses phosphorus compounds, such as phosphorus hydrides and phosphonium compounds; phosphorus halides and phosphorus pseudohalides; thiophosphoryl halides and thiophosphoryl pseudohalides; phosphorus oxides; and phosphorus-nitrogen compounds. The pyrophosphates, tripolyphosphates, polyphosphates, cyclic metaphosphates, and ultraphosphates are also covered in this text. This publication is intended for chemical engineering students and chemists researching on the characteristics of phosphorus.

DOWNLOAD EBOOK →Provides a high level reference source for scientists engaged in any aspect of plant research - chemistry, biochemistry or physiology - with primary focus on the chemistry of phosphorus-containing compounds that occur naturally in the plant kingdom, and specifically in the higher plants (Plantae). The book is comprehensive with respect to nomenclature, physical properties, and distribution worldwide. There are many tables of actual data on phosphorus compounds occurring in whole plants and parts of plants. The tables provide detailed data that is needed by the food industry, agriculture, etc as many of the phosphorus compounds are common to both plants and animals. Two appendices cover other aspects including changes in phosphorus-containing compounds during germination and their accumulation during growth and senescence. The final sections of the book comprise separate indexes of plants, compounds and authors. Comprehensive examination of phosphorus compounds found in plants Extensive tables listing types of compounds and their occurrence in plants including: Nomenclature; Occurrence; Physical Properties; Synthesis; Hydrolysis; Phosphorylation; Extraction; Separation and Analysis Easy to use indexes of plants, compounds and authors

The most significant developments of the last 5 to 10 years are presented using selected examples to illustrate the principles discussed. The coverage is not intended to be an exhaustive summary of the field or include large quantities of data, but should rather be conceptual, concentrating on the methodological thinking that will allow the non-specialist reader to understand the information presented. Contributions also offer an outlook on potential future developments in the field.

DOWNLOAD EBOOK →This volume C 1 is the first supplement volume to "Phosphor" C which was published in 1965 and covers the compounds of phosphorus. Starting with the binary species formed between phosphorus and hydrogen, the present volume deals with the neutral mononuclear compounds PH through PH ; the ions featuring the same stoichiometric composition are s covered in separate sections. PH and PH are the major initial gaseous decomposition products of PH and, thus, also 2 J intermediates in many of its gas-phase reactions. Both molecules and their ions have been thoroughly investigated by a variety of modern, high-resolution spectroscopic methods during the last three decades. The coverage of their physical, and mostly molecular, properties re presents the largest part of the first two chapters (PH and ions pp. 2 to 47; PH and ions pp. 47 2 to 111). PH is the only compound described in this volume which is thermally stable under normal J conditions. It is the phosphorus analog of ammonia, but exhibits, however, a quite different chemical behavior towards most elements and compounds. The majority of its physical, and in particular spectroscopic, properties have been determined in great detail since the sixties, partially in regard to spectroscopic investigations of the atmospheres of the outer planets.

DOWNLOAD EBOOK →Inorganic Phosphorus Compounds—2 provides information pertinent to the fundamental aspects of inorganic phosphorus compounds. This book discusses the chemistry, bonding, properties, and synthesis in inorganic phosphorus compounds. Organized into 16 chapters, this book begins with an overview of the chemistry of phosphorus triiodide and diiodide. This text then examines the status of inorganic phosphate chemistry as well as the influence of phase transitions upon the physical properties of condensed phosphates. Other chapters consider the synthesis of a large number of simple as well as review the complex polymetaphosphate glasses of alkali metals. This book discusses as well the synthesis of phosphoric triamide under different conditions and condensation by hydrogen chloride. The final chapter deals with the general trend in the development of the production of industrial fertilizers as well as its further prospects. This book is a valuable resource for organic, inorganic, physical, and theoretical chemists.

DOWNLOAD EBOOK →Undoubtedly the chemistry of phosphorus appears more and more attractive in the sense that phosphorus presents an extraordinary versatile behaviour that allows the synthesis of a large number of different phosphorus reagents usable for applications in different fields, from biology to material science without f- getting key applications in catalysis. The full maturity of this topic of research can be explained by all the acquired knowledge over these twenty last years. Organic and inorganic chemistries of P , P and P species have been the s- in ]V v ject of thousands of publications while the chemistry of low coordinated ph- phorus derivatives experienced its hour of glory from the 1970s to the early 1990s. In parallel, interactions between phosphorus compounds and transition metals afforded many complexes, a lot of which present fascinating properties as catalysts. The interest in all these themes really is not decreasing, indeed some fas- nating areas of research are emerging or are the subject of many investigations: the medicinal chemistry of bisphosphonates, the role of phosphorus in biology, phosphorus ligands in radiopharmaceutical chemistry, phosphorus in material science, new polymers and dendrimers incorporating phosphorus, and as- metric catalysis to name but a few. Indeed researchers, benefitting from their background in basic phosphorus chemistry are developing many new fields of research.
