Current estimates indicate that there are about florists in the United States, and they account for sales in excess of a billion dollars annually. Two out of every three florists have businesses With annual sales of less than these sales represent less than one-third of total sales of the industry. Nearly a fourth of the businesses are of medium size; their annual sales of to account for 30 percent of total sales. About one out of nine florists has annual sales of or more and is classified large or very large. However, this relatively small number of florists accounts for nearly 40 percent of the industry's sales.
