In fact, some are encoded into the old Constitution, the poor thing, as it inhales its last gasps of air." "Some rules and norms exist there that transcend human differences, that we could have gotten everybody to agree upon. The same goes for holy books and other teachings. If I count them, I'd say there are no more than a dozen basic tenets.
