Let's get spooky. But not too spooky! Join Mona & Mason in the Paranormal Chronicles full of mystery, humor, a little bit of creepiness, and a black cat with attitude! The Doll House He’s a ghost. She’s not afraid. Buying a house without seeing it first might not have been the best plan when Mona decided to run away from her problems. Doors slamming without notice, a dumb cat that won’t leave her alone, and a handsome man who only appears when he touches her with a touch so cold, it numbs her to the bone. Yet she never wants him to let go. Life just got more complicated, but she’s up for the challenge of solving how Mason became a ghost and helping him to move on, follow the light…or whatever a ghost is supposed to do. Only problem with that, the house has another plan. If she’s not careful she could be soon joining Mason on his side. Witch Way to Turn A journal full of secrets… Mona is determined to uncover the truth her mother kept from her, starting with meeting an aunt she never knew she had. But before her aunt will divulge any answers, she needs help vanquishing some nasty vampires. Mission accepted. Not that Mona knows how to kill a vampire, but it can’t be too hard, right? A stake to the chest, chop the head off, sprinkle a little garlic and holy water. One of those things should do the trick. But there’s more going on than meets the eye. Can she trust the woman she just met but shares blood with? In a world filled with more questions than she has answers, it’s hard to know. But one thing Mona does know: she’s not about to let anyone tell her what to do or hurt the man she loves. A Simple Halloween Nothing is ever what it seems… It’s that time of the year, and Mona gets to have fun with the spooktacular holiday, being a witch and all. She’s embraced who she is, so why not enjoy it. A little trouble with some neighborhood teenage bullies gives her the perfect opportunity to stretch her witchy fingers. With some practice, those boys will learn not to pick on her anymore. But all of her devious plans at revenge come to a screeching halt when one of them knocks on her door asking for help finding his cat. Well, asking Mason, who accepts. Fine. They’ll help the miscreant, but it doesn’t mean she’s happy about it. How hard can it be for a witch, former ghost, and some vampires to find a missing cat? Not hard at all because she has a few tricks—and treats—up her sleeve.

The charm of Elliot Paul’s storytelling is that nowhere does he allow relevancy to cloud the brilliance of his art. Mr. Paul seeks to pleasure you. Like a skilful skater on a frozen pond he cuts intricate figures on memory’s gleaming surface. If, here and there, the ice is thin he chances it rather than interrupt the onlooker’s delight. To Mr. Paul, the figure’s the thing. So, in A Ghost Town on the Yellowstone, which was first published in 1948, Mr. Paul reaches back to the year 1907 and to his youthful adventures on a project of the United States Reclamation Service in Montana. With him you start on one of the oddest stagecoach rides in history—a ride in which no matter how the passengers change at various stops their number is always thirteen, a circumstance to make the driver consult his whisky jug more frequently than usual. The hapless coach—jinxed to the whiffletrees, overturns, dumps its passengers into the sagebrush and thus precipitates the founding of the town of Trembles. Thanks to Mr. Paul’s keen observation (vitamin enriched and thoroughly irradiated) you meet the first citizens of Trembles—a saloonkeeper, two Chinese, a scissorbill, and a woman somewhat less ancient than the profession she follows. Thenceforth you participate in some of the most astonishing, humorous and touching events ever to take place in that part of the Wild West. To tell you more would be to cheat you of your full quota of agreeable surprises.

So much happened during the 1960s, '70s, and '80s that reshaped the retail picture of the future. With the lore of fashion and the excitement, the author's unusual fashion boutique emerged in Millburn Short Hills, New Jersey. Such an exciting town to be part of. The shops and restaurants, as you will read, were the Arch, the Chanticler, Mario's, and many chic dining spots, some of which do not exist today. The Paper Mill Playhouse was where many actors and actresses performed, whether it be Kathryn Hepburn, Bernadette Peters, Carol Channing, Lana Turner, Ann Miller, Christine Ebersole, and so many more of legend. An exciting time. Now the same exists but in a different manner. And now Beyond the fitting Room will answer why things happened to change the author's life and business.

Since 1970, all the states adopted no-fault divorce statutes, which have had the unexpected effect of producing dire financial conditions for many divorced women and their children. In this important study, economist and lawyer Allen Parkman shows how no-fault divorce has systematically operated against the interests of these women and children. With rare economic and legal insight, Parkman argues that by changing the grounds for divorce without changing the laws that define and allocate property at divorce, the legal system created substantial injustices. The key mistake, he suggests, was in accepting a definition of property that did not include the income-earning capacity--human capital--of the individuals involved. Using human capital theory, Parkman criticizes current divorce law and presents a framework for reform that would reduce the injustices introduced by no-fault divorce. He concludes that a thorough reform, however, may require the changing of the grounds for divorce to mutual consent. This book is essential reading for scholars, professionals, and, indeed, for anyone interested in the health and future of the family and the well-being of women in contemporary U.S. society.
