Nonembedding methods as well as embedding techniques discussed include free hand nonembedding, microtome nonembedding and microtome embedding procedures. Embedding methods have the disadvantage of being tedious and requiring a considerable amount of time, apparatus, and technical skill in operation Because of these disadvantages, it is advisable first to determine whether the analysis of a sample would require such lengthy procedures.
