Astrology, sacred psychology and reincarnation come together seamlessly in the hands of two of the world's premier metaphysical astrologers. Jeffrey Green's work 'mirrors the eternal realities of the soul', according to the leading Danish astrology magazine St Jernerne. Sting calls Steven Forrest's work 'as intelligent and cogent as it is poetic'. Based on the transcripts of a series of workshops that Green and Forrest gave together, this book pushes the ancient symbols of astrology to new heights of insight, lucidly and compellingly showing us how the soul's long history is reflected in the birth chart. Beneath the seeming randomness of life, there is a clear and meaningful order. This book provides the Rosetta Stone for unravelling it. The lecture format is warm, personal and informal, with lots of audience interaction. Forrest and Green team up to analyse the chart of a workshop participant volunteer, just as they would that of a client who had come for a reading.

Measuring Functioning and Well-Being is a comprehensive account a broad range of self-reported functioning and well-being measures developed for the Medical Outcomes Study, a large-sale study of how patients fare with health care in the United States. This book provides a set of ready-to-use generic measures that are applicable to all adults, including those well and chronically ill, as well as a methodological guide to collecting health data and constructing health measures. As demand increases for more practical methods to monitor the outcomes of health care, this volume offers a timely and valuable contribution to the field. The contributors address conceptual and methodological issues involved in measuring such important health status concepts as: physical, social, and role functioning; psychological distress and well-being; general health perceptions; energy and fatigue; sleep; and pain. The authors present psychometric results and explain how to administer, score, and interpret the measures. Comprising the work of a number of highly respected scholars in the field of health assessment, Measuring Functioning and Well-Being will be of great interest and value to the growing number of researchers, policymakers, and clinicians concerned with the management and evaluation of health care.

Employment is a key driver of social and economic development. It is also at the centre of most people's lives and the quality of an individual's employment is an important element of his or her well-being. At the same time, labour markets are evolving and the conditions of employment are continuously changing, which affects the lives of workers and their households. This development has been accompanied by growing interest in quality of employment and demands from policymakers, governments and researchers for more systematic information on the quality of employment to complement the well-established quantitative labour market indicators. The Framework offers a coherent structure for measuring quality of employment and provides practical guidance for compiling and interpreting a number of proposed indicators.

This volume contains the fifteenth tri-annual reports of the Presidents of the forty Commissions of the International Astronomical Union; it refers to the progress in our discipline during the three years 1970, 1971 and 1972. As compared to earlier volumes a gradual change in character is unmistakable. The ever increasing flow of publications, combined with the obvious necessity to keep the Reports at a reasonable size and price level has gradually forced the Commission Presidents to be more selective than before in drafting their Reports. I have certainly stimulated them into that direction - in order that Reports like these be valuable and lasting, it seems imperative that the individual contributions have the character of a critical overall review, where a fairly complete summary is given of the major develop ments and discoveries of the past three years, and in which the broad developments and new trends be clearly outlined, while at the same time essential problems for future research are identified. With respect to the latter item I have suggested the Commission Presidents to add to their reports a brief section on scientific priorities for future research in the field of their Commissions. In order to save space I have suggested to Commission Presidents that references to published papers are given on the basis of their number in the published issues of Astronomy and Astrophysics Abstracts. For instance, the indication (06. 078. 019) or (AAA 06. 078.
