Find the answers to these questions and several more in Leapfrog Leapfrog-in the context of thriving at work-is a scenario when a new entrant outperforms others. How do they achieve this? Are high performers born or made? Is there a way to nudge yourself into being more successful at work and also in life? With its six evidence-based insights, this book is poised to help you to advance your career at an incredible pace. To begin with, the first step is to develop grit along with the ability to embrace boredom. The second practice, leaning on behavioral economics, focusses on nudging yourself to make better choices. The third practice is about being intellectually humble by accepting limits to what you know. The chapter on dancing with disciplines celebrates the magic of ideas colliding to create new ones. The last practice helps you think like an entrepreneur and develop the ability to ask for what you want. Based on their extensive experience of teaching and mentoring students, the authors have developed a framework called the Personal Journey Map (PJM), which will help you imbibe and implement the six practices by capturing your current repertoire, scanning the landscape ahead, and curating a path to a career in which you can prosper.

Leapfrog depicts one summer in the life of a very poor young boy in post-revolutionary Havana in the late '50s. He has superhero fantasies, hangs around with the neighborhood kids, smokes cigarettes, tells very lame jokes. The kids fight, discuss the mysteries of religion and sex, and play games -- such as leapfrog. So vivid and so very credible, Leapfrog reads as if Rosales had simply transcribed everything that he'd heard or said for this one moving and touching book about a lost childhood.

The author tears into the false narrative of India’s progress since independence and the mirage of a glorious future, created by the political class and the bureaucracy. With facts, data, and a touching narration he reveals the plight of the poor and the unemployed through the decades. One of the most agonizing facts that he highlights is that since independence, India has fallen 100 places behind other countries in GDP per capita; and with Bangladesh overtaking India on this parameter, India is destined to remain the poorest large country in the world. The book illustrates how Indians have become hostage to a crippled system that is unable to deliver. Power brokers in the garb of politicians, entrenched bureaucracy driven by self-interest, ineffective judiciary, and elements of the fourth estate along with self-seeking pseudo-intellectuals have formed a powerful coalition to thwart any change in the system and policies which is essential for the transformation of India, initiated from time to time by some progressive governments. Based on his diagnosis of why India continues to fall by the wayside as also his insights into strategies, governance systems, and best practices of countries like South Korea, China, and others, the author evolves a framework for the strategic transformation of India to ‘Catch Up and Leapfrog’ these countries.

The technique proposed allows interpolation of data recorded at unevenly spaced sites to a regular grid or to other sites. Known data are interpolated to an initial guess field grid of unevenly spaced rows and columns by a simple distance weighting procedure. The initial guess field is then adjusted by using a parabolic leapfrog correction and the known data. The final output is then generated by use of cubic spline interpolation on the adjusted grid. Application to test and actual data showed acceptably low root-meansquare error.

Lady G wrote: Chapter after wonderful chapter. You did a great job on this book. And I know one thing for sure, I will hate to see it end. All in all a fantastic book. Way to go my friend. Shaotzu wrote: I must comment on the writing. Comedic writing is often the most difficult thing an author must do. Dialogue is in the top five. Combine the two and ask an author to present comedic dialogue- it's not easy. I like the work you did here and the timing was great. Keep up the entertainment. Kromag wrote: The whole story was great, you set the tone in the first few lines. It was a fantastic bit of comedy that served to further define the characters, and it was damn funny too. Boja wrote: It has been a long time since I have read something so touching. I did not know when to cry or laugh. I wish there was an emotion to do both at the same time. What a great book!! Dark Garment wrote: Excellent in every way. Great style, reminds me of David Eggers. Great emotion, great humour. That is, I must say, one of the best stories on this site. I applaud you. Lyricl wrote: FANTASTIC!!! You have kept me quite entertained with your words. Plus, that humorous only made it all the better. Highly enjoyable. Though I've yet to read all you have written, I can guarantee you THAT will certainly only be a temporary thing for me. Simply saying, I think you happen to be extraordinarily gifted at this writing thing. I look forward to checking out more of your work. Very interesting reading all the way. Keep up the great work. THANK YOU!
