Are you ready to develop a retirement plan that allows you to grow closer to God by preparing for the non-financial aspects of it including the mental, social, physical, and spiritual aspects of life in retirement? It's time to re-envision retirement in terms of salvation instead of savings. We need to expand retirement discussions from the impersonal numbers and dollar signs to you and your overall wellness. I'm talking about preparing your body, mind, and spirit instead of your pocketbook. Fact of the matter is, retirement is often portrayed as the ultimate prize and destination... but it's not. Getting into heaven is. That's a mindset I don't want anyone to realize too late. While the Bible doesn't endorse many of today's retirement ideals, Scripture actually overflows with Gods plan and promises for your retirement. In such a way, that nearly every book of the Bible contains retirement wisdom for those interested in seeking it out and applying it to this season of life. For those who enter retirement unprepared for everything it is, they can look to the story of Abraham who at age 75 was told by God to leave behind his comforts - and everything he knew - for an unknown destination. For others who may have been forced into retirement because of corporate downsizing, a health problem, or other unexpected circumstance, they can learn from Daniel's unwavering faith as he overcame the Lion's Den after being betrayed by his co-workers. Even those who think they are prepared and called by God to take their life in a new direction, can garner retirement lessons from the many trials and tribulations the Apostle Paul faced after Jesus called out to him on the road to Damascus. In each case, the lives of Abraham, Daniel, and Paul all grew brighter as they pursued their faith and their relationship with God. Don't make your retirement journey like that of the Israelite's who wandered around in the wilderness for forty years to make what was actually an eleven-day journey. Use Retirement Roots: A Christian Look At Everyday Life In Retirement to learn how to make your retirement a time of life that is truly everlasting. -Answer the three most powerful retirement questions that will change your life in retirement forever-Use God's promises and direction to replace your career identity and re-invent yourself -Prepare for important conversations that will strengthen your relationships with God, family, and friends-Overcome Satan's temptations and the dark side of retirement-Develop wellness habits and strategies for your body, mind, and spirit -Create a more personal and meaningful Christian Retirement Plan that can improve your everyday life right away Today's realities say it's time to focus more on God's saving grace than your personal savings. Use Retirement Roots to discover the best of what God has in store for you. I assure you, the results will be everlasting.

Whether the issue of the day on Twitter, Facebook, or cable news is our sexuality, political divides, or the perceived conflict between faith and science, today’s media pushes each one of us into a frustrating clash between two opposing sides. Polarizing, us-against-them discussions divide us and distract us from thinking clearly and communicating lovingly with others. Scott Sauls, like many of us, is weary of the bickering and is seeking a way of truth and beauty through the conflicts. Jesus Outside the Lines presents Jesus as this way. Scott shows us how the words and actions of Jesus reveal a response that does not perpetuate the destructive fray. Jesus offers us a way forward—away from harshness, caricatures, and stereotypes. In Jesus Outside the Lines, you will experience a fresh perspective of Jesus, who will not (and should not) fit into the sides.

This Leader's Guide is used to help faciliate the activities in the Boomerangs Circle Back to Your Dreams Self-Coaching Workbook. Circle Back to Your Dreams is a coaching process designed by Jeffrey Jans and Mickie Schroeder which enables you to "let go" of your career or profession, reconnect with or determine your life's purpose, and find the method or vehicle that will fulfill that purpose. The result is a "retirement" where each day you are engaged in something meaningful and significant to you. When a small group of no more than 10-12 meet to help each other with the process, it is best to have a designated facilitator or 2. The goal for each member of your group is to find a direction or intention for their retirement and create multiple options for how to fulfill that intention. Even though everyone has the same goal, the needs, motivators, attitudes, strengths, fears, degree of openness or rigidity, vocabulary, resilience, etc., will be different. The magic a facilitator performs is to turn all those individual differences into assets that contribute to each group member's retirement plans. The Workbook includes 22 activities which individuals complete alone prior to each meeting. During the meetings facilitated discussions and other activities provide opportunities for the group to coach each other. The full wisdom of the group manifests in each member's retirement choices. The Leader's Guide has full descriptions for how to get the most out of each of these discussions and activities. When you stand up in front of a group of people no matter what the topic or type of presentation, it can be nerve wracking. Even though you believe bringing a group of people together to create a retirement plan is a great idea on multiple levels, the thought of taking on the role of facilitator could be enough to persuade you it isn't. The leader guide is meant to assuage those fears by providing you with a detailed "map" of your group's travels through Circle Back to Your Dreams. Here's something the leader guide provides to help you right away. As a facilitator, you are not the expert. The people who you stand in front of are the experts but they don't know it. Your job is to elicit the expertise that is, collectively, theirs. The leader's guide provides you with the "tools" for how to do this. Your role as facilitator is like a conductor of an orchestra. The musicians in an orchestra contribute to an overall sound they could not make alone. The conductor does not know how to play all those instruments. He or she has a score (like a Leader Guide) that provides all the various parts to the music. It is the conductors job to make it all coalesce. As a facilitator, you are the conductor of the Leader's Guide which enables your group members to make beautiful retirements together. One element that makes coaching so powerful is the accountability it provides the coachee. Knowing that others are counting on your contributions for their retirement success creates an obligation. When a facilitator communicates this to their group, the whole forum becomes a partnership. It transcends being a workshop. It's a beautiful thing to behold. The Leader's Guide uses theory and techniques from the book, Effective Group Coaching by Jennifer Britton. Jennifer writes, "Group coaching is often as important as the interaction with a coach. Many clients find the process "less on the spot," giving them more time to reflect and integrate their insights." A preview portion of the guide is available for you to read on our website at www.BOOMERangsRetirementtCoach.com. A free 30-minute consultation about the Leader's Guide is available by appointment upon purchase of the book.

A practical yet humorous guide to aging solo gracefully and achieving a happy retirement. In Essential Retirement Planning for Solo Agers, certified retirement coach Sara Zeff Geber coins the term “Solo Ager” to refer to the segment of society that either does not have adult children or is single and believes they will be on their own as they grow older. This book explores the path ahead for this group. That includes choices in housing, relationships, legal arrangements, finances, and more. Geber reviews the role of adult children in an aging parent’s world and suggests ways in which Solo Agers can mitigate the absence of adult children by relationship building and rigorous planning for their future. Geber shares her expertise on what constitutes a fulfilling older life and how Solo Agers can maximize their opportunities for financial security, physical health, meaning and purpose in the second half of life, and, finally, planning for the end game. Through real-life stories and anecdotes, the author explores housing choices, relationships, and building a support system. You will learn about: · different levels of care and independence in various types of living arrangements · how to initiate discussions among friends and relatives about end-of-life treatment · “what if” scenarios · who to talk to about legal and financial decisions And it’s not just the Solo Ager that can learn from this book. Financial advisors, elder law and estate attorneys, senior care managers, and others whose clientele is on the far side of sixty will benefit as well.

Find God’s vision for your job. Reclaim God’s vision for your life. Many Christians fall victim to one of two main problems when it comes to work: either they are idle in their work, or they have made an idol of it. Both of these mindsets are deadly misunderstandings of how God intends for us to think about our employment. In The Gospel at Work, Sebastian Traeger and Greg Gilbert unpack the powerful ways in which the gospel can transform how we do what we do, releasing us from the cultural pressures of both an all-consuming devotion and a punch-in, punch-out mentality—in order to find the freedom of a work ethic rooted in serving Christ. You’ll find answers to some of the tough questions that Christians in the workplace often ask: What factors should matter most in choosing a job? What gospel principles should shape my thinking about how to treat my boss, my co-workers, and my employees? Is full-time Christian work more valuable than my job? Is it okay to be motivated by money? How do you prioritize—or balance—work, family and church responsibilities? Solidly grounded in the gospel, The Gospel at Work confronts both our idleness at work and our idolatry of work with a challenge of its own—to remember that whom we work for is infinitely more important than what we do.
