First published in 2001, Barren Lands is the classic true story of the men who sought—and found—a great diamond mine on the last frontier of the far north. From a bloody 18th-century trek across the Canadian tundra to the daunting natural forces facing protagonists Chuck Fipke and Stewart Blusson as they struggle against the mighty DeBeers cartel, this is the definitive account of one of the world’s great mineral discoveries. Combining geology, science history, raw nature, and high intrigue, it is also a tale of supreme adventure, taking the reader into a magical—and now fast-vanishing—wild landscape. Now in a newly revised and updated edition.

A Diamond in the Rough is Marilyn Lands third and most passionate novel set against the glamorous world of the Diamond Industry. When Jake Lyons finds himself the sole survivor of his family, he emerges from the ashes of destruction a complex and compelling Hero whose tragic loss during the Blitz leads him to join the Royal Air Force to fight for Britain. At Wars end, he returns to England a highly decorated RAF Ace Pilot only to face a series of life shattering decisions, as he tries to pick up the pieces of his young life without the woman he loves more than life itself. Upon his Uncle Benjamins death in South Africa, and as sole heir to his estate, he becomes the recipient of an intricately carved chest containing thousands of cut and polished diamonds, no mention of which was made in his Will. Left with doubts that the cache was perhaps sent to him in error or the spoils of a heist during the War, he sets out to determine to whom it belongs. From London to New York, South Africa to Israel, from his old world of diamonds to his new world of aviation, the twists, turns, and surprises her readers have learned to expect uniquely define the profound personal story of a true Diamond in the Rough.

Black & White Edition. This is the first English translation of Marie Wilson & Nanos Valaoritis' "Terre de diamant", which first appeared in French in 1958. Marie Wilson, an American surrealist, was an active participant in the Paris surrealist group in the 1950s. This book, the only book Marie herself has published, is a supreme document of poetic evidence, infused by her collaboration with the Greek poet Nanos Valaoritis. Marie was inspired to create a series of sixteen lithographs, and Nanos prepared the sixteen parallel texts that accompany them. Marie and Nanos subsequently married in 1960. They live today in Athens, Greece.
