This detailed course book of immigration and refugee law and policies in the United States mixes theory, policy, and politics with practice-oriented material. After an overview of US immigration law, an introduction to the basic terms and concepts, and a quick outline of the historical roots of the modern US immigration policy, the book grapples the immigration debate.
