About the Expert Rebecca Friedberg graduated from The Ohio State University in 2017 where she pursued a degree in Classical Languages and a minor in Business Administration. After graduating, she traveled the world solo for six months. Her travels took her to Spain, France, Germany, and Romania in Europe. In Asia, she traveled to Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Rebecca decided to travel after her first year in university. She knew that traveling held endless and valuable life-lessons she couldn’t learn at school. While in school, she saved her money, committed to the idea of traveling the world, and then made it a reality for herself. She wrote this guide to pass along advice she was given and help future female solo world travelers. This is Rebecca’s second guide with HowExperts. For her first one, her topic was how to trek through the Manaslu Mountains of Nepal. In the future, Rebecca hopes to write other works and travel. HowExpert publishes quick 'how to' guides on all topics from A to Z by everyday experts.

Homestay is about ordinary people living in an ordinary house welcoming others as guests into their home. The homeowner acts as a host and guide in return for a fee. This means that hosts can earn money by staying at home. It doesn't get much better than that. Anyone in any style of home can become a host and earn extra money. It is up to you how much you want to put into it. The more effort, the better the return. There is no typical host or host family in terms of age, family makeup, economic status, background or location. However, I wrote this book based on my knowledge of the army of women of a certain age who, in the late middle of life, find themselves living alone in a family home that they can no longer afford--a house that is too big and empty. The future looks difficult and lonely, and maybe the only option is to downsize and leave the home that they love. I searched and could find nothing to help me, so I set about learning on the job. This book will give you my eight years of experience all wrapped in in one place.

This work examines the differences between the two main laws that fund democratization activities in the post-Soviet regions. Analysis of the program funded by the Freedom Support Act reveals the extent to which the State Department relies on private organizations to implement democratization programs, and suggests that democratization programs provide financial benefits primarily to American organizations. Then, with a combined issue network/statist argument, this study explains that an issue network, organized by the State Department to give the foreign policy community an active mission in the post-cold war environment, was the impetus behind the creation of programs like Community Connections. Because Community Connections have never faced financial or political scandal, and taps into an American priority of spreading democracy and capitalism, evaluation of CC was irrelevant to program expansion and continuation.
