Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

Excerpt from The Gopatha Brahmana of the Atharva Veda: In the Original Sanskrit Alike in interest and in extent, the Atharra is the least im portant of the four Vedas. It has none of the halo of that remote antiquity which recommends the Rig Veda to the earnest attention of the scholar, the historian, and the philo sopher and its subjects are of a character which cannot but place it in subordination to the other works of the class to which it belongs. The Rig deals in matters which are original, and stamped with the seal of the most primitive simplicity; the Atharva follows it almost as. An expounder. In extent, the Sanhitas of the Rig, the Yajush, and the Sf'una are considerably more elaborate, comprising, according to the Vziyu Purana, and verses respectively; whereas that of the latter has only 5910 verses The Charanrwyaha givesa greater number of richas to the first; while the mss. Available make the last even smaller. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
