The Great Thought Experiment - The Theory of EverythingEinstein's Theory of Relativity was developed via a "thought experiment." Using his imagination and the scientific knowledge of his time, Einstein propelled his views into quite a dissertation - The General Theory of Relativity - which since that time, has been proven correct in theory. Scientists have made significant advances but still struggle with the quantum realm and trying to figure out how it fits in and then postulating the Theory of Everything, which you must be a rocket scientist to begin to understand.Inquiring minds still want to know: Who am I? Who made me? Why am I here? Where did I come from? How did this all start? What happens when I die ... if I do? Where will I go? These questions have been asked for perhaps hundreds of thousands of years, but it has just been a few thousand years since theology scholars and philosophers have attempted to document and record the answers. Throughout the years, there has been much discourse surrounding their conclusions, but none of the results have been entirely satisfactory. The first notable written source for the answers came from the Book of Genesis which scholars speculate was written as early as the 10th Century BC, with conjecture still rampant as to the author(s), origin, time frame, and theology. The Book of Genesis was an early historical attempt at presenting "The Theory of Everything from the perspective of the people of that time. A simplified view of Genesis is that it is a crafted creation myth or "thought experiment" written with a philosophical, cultural and time perspective, based on a cultural need at that time, to set some rules and guidelines that define who we are, how we got here, and how we fit into the physical world. Realize that nobody knew or knows absolutely the answers, so the writer(s) created a narrative/story based on the understanding of the times, in a language of the times, to help guide people or perhaps even control them. The Book of Genesis creation account still has a powerful influence on the people of today in providing a base understanding of the who and what of God and humankind. But let's face it, inquiring minds still want to know the answers. We want to know them based on the knowledge and language of our modern times, and we want a simplified version, so we need not be a brain surgeon to understand it. This book does just that. The reader will be taken though an exciting, compelling thought experiment ... an adventure which will prove to be a major step forward in the evolution of the creation myth. This will be a dissertation which will boldly assert what the Book of Genesis of yesterday would look like today after updating it with the language of the 21st century that includes advances in theology, psychology, science and technology. This is a quantum leap in the 3000-year old narrative and is sure to become a new starting point for continued growth and understanding of our vision of God and the nature of reality. This book is a simple and understandable Theory of Everything that the general populace can comprehend and believe and promises to be a major leap forward in the evolution of the "creation myth.". Genesis 2.0.- Science Redefining Spirituality is destined to shake us up and wake us up to truly LIVE our essence ... who we really are.

The historical interface between science and religion was depicted as an unbridgeable conflict in the last quarter of the nineteenth century. Starting in the 1970s, such a conception was too simplistic and not at all accurate when considering the totality of that relationship. This volume evaluates the utility of the “complexity principle” in past, present, and future scholarship. First put forward by historian John Brooke over twenty-five years ago, the complexity principle rejects the idea of a single thesis of conflict or harmony, or integration or separation, between science and religion. Rethinking History, Science, and Religion brings together an interdisciplinary group of scholars at the forefront of their fields to consider whether new approaches to the study of science and culture—such as recent developments in research on science and the history of publishing, the global history of science, the geographical examination of space and place, and science and media—have cast doubt on the complexity thesis, or if it remains a serviceable historiographical model.

The age-old debate between science and faith invites more players to the fore in this book. Proponents of the origin of life as a natural process and natural selection as a mechanism of evolution come face to face with advocates for the intervention of a creator, while other scholars believe that the gulf between science and religion should be bridged. At turns disconcerting, revelatory, and profound, readers are invited to leave their preconceived notions at the door and join these writers in this curious journey of discovery.

The Articles of Configuration: What happened before Genesis began? The scriptures amazingly describe the material building blocks of the earth before our earthly sphere was formed. But, even more amazing, is that the invisible blueprints describing the formation of the universe and its lifeforms are hidden in plain sight in the scriptures-in the form of flashback descriptions of what happened before Genesis 1:1. The problem of mankind understanding these blueprints has been that advancements in science were necessary to understand what has been written from antiquity. Science and theology has been locked together in a mighty struggle of ideas. The process, at times, has been ugly as a caterpillar chomping on leaves, regurgitating and trying to build a cocoon of how the universe is really constituted. But this cocoon, like the human brain, has an inside tension between left brained logic and right brained dreaming. A mighty struggle ensues and at last a butterfly emerges from the cocoon and its glistening wings dry in the sun. As the butterfly discovers its destiny and ascends in flight into the brilliant blue sky filled with fluffy white clouds, a serene revelation of peace envelops the butterfly. It realizes that its one wing of science and its other wing of theology are working in harmony under a Master control. Thrilled and awed, the butterfly uses both wings to ascend far above worldly ideas into realms that it once only dreamed of.

Since ancient times man has sought to understand the origins of the universe around him, and his place within it. Such speculations were once the sole purview of religion, but since the Enlightenment, science and rationality have also attempted to explain these mysteries, but from an opposing perspective. Conflict resulted and both sides dug in, clinging to dogmas that precluded any consideration of the other side. "Genesis, Zen and Quantum Physics" enters the fray with a very unique approach. Believing that harmony, rather than conflict, defines the relationship between the Genesis account and modern science; the authors have retranslated the creation story according to the ancient Hebrew pictographic language and in the context of the nomadic culture from which the language and narratives arose. The resulting translation and its accompanying commentary challenge the common understanding of God, science, and the very reason for man's existence. By harmonizing an accurate biblical account with cutting edge scientific understanding, the authors present a mature religious ideal and an appreciation for the understanding of the ancients for modern scientific concepts. This is a book that will redefine your understanding of God, the world around you and your role within it.

How was the world created? Battle lines are currently drawn between two dogmatic camps: the fundamentalist 'Creationists' who believe that creation took place in six days, and the scientific reductionists who expound theories of 'big bangs' and so on. From a direct spiritual perception of the facts, Rudolf Steiner presents a new perspective which transcends these bipolar arguments. He affirms that clairvoyant research accords with the biblical descriptions, but he emphasizes that the text of Genesis has to be interpreted in a special way. In this extraordinary document, Steiner speaks of the six days of creation as a reawakening of the previous phases of the Earth's development. He describes the work of mighty spiritual entities called the Elohim, and how they co-operated with other spiritual hierarchies in the creation of Earth. He also clarifies the relationship of the Elohim and the biblical Jehovah. In addition, Steiner discusses themes of light and darkness, the meaning of Adam and Eve, the 'day of rest' on the seventh day, the stages of human development on Earth, and the special character of the Hebrew language. Also featured in this new edition is a previously unpublished introductory lecture on the meaning of mystery drama.

Given the central role of the food and agriculture system in driving so many of the connected ecological, social and economic threats and challenges we currently face, Rethinking Food and Agriculture reviews, reassesses and reimagines the current food and agriculture system and the narrow paradigm in which it operates. Rethinking Food and Agriculture explores and uncovers some of the key historical, ethical, economic, social, cultural, political, and structural drivers and root causes of unsustainability, degradation of the agricultural environment, destruction of nature, short-comings in science and knowledge systems, inequality, hunger and food insecurity, and disharmony. It reviews efforts towards ‘sustainable development’, and reassesses whether these efforts have been implemented with adequate responsibility, acceptable societal and environmental costs and optimal engagement to secure sustainability, equity and justice. The book highlights the many ways that farmers and their communities, civil society groups, social movements, development experts, scientists and others have been raising awareness of these issues, implementing solutions and forging ‘new ways forward’, for example towards paradigms of agriculture, natural resource management and human nutrition which are more sustainable and just. Rethinking Food and Agriculture proposes ways to move beyond the current limited view of agro-ecological sustainability towards overall sustainability of the food and agriculture system based on the principle of ‘inclusive responsibility’. Inclusive responsibility encourages ecosystem sustainability based on agro-ecological and planetary limits to sustainable resource use for production and livelihoods. Inclusive responsibility also places importance on quality of life, pluralism, equity and justice for all and emphasises the health, well-being, sovereignty, dignity and rights of producers, consumers and other stakeholders, as well as of nonhuman animals and the natural world. Explores some of the key drivers and root causes of unsustainability , degradation of the agricultural environment and destruction of nature Highlights the many ways that different stakeholders have been forging 'new ways forward' towards alternative paradigms of agriculture, human nutrition and political economy, which are more sustainable and just Proposes ways to move beyong the current unsustainable exploitation of natural resources towards agroecological sustainability and overall sustainability of the food and agriculture system based on 'inclusive responsibility'
