On a straight track a section, as per diagram given in appendix, must be kept clear in single track through bridges. On a curved track and in double track structures the clear width must be proportionately increased. The distance center to center of the double track is 13 feet. Assuming length of cars 75 feet and spacing of trucks 54 feet, center to center, 21/2 inches additional clear width must be provided on the inside of curves for every inch of elevation of outer rail, on account of tipping of cars. The width from center to center of trusses shall not be less than 1-20th of the span. See Appendix A. 2.
