Reverend Potter holds that there is a great esoteric knowledge hidden in the Christian Gospel in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ about the evolution of the human race and its ultimate goal. This esoteric knowledge is also found in ancient cultures of Egypt, Mesopotamia, Persia, India, Greece, and Rome. Here can be found the belief of a pre-existent archetypal Cosmic Christ or God-Person. Jesus, being a recipient of this knowledge, achieved in his lifetime for humanity a "New state of being," a "New humanity," to which we are all heirs. Teilard de Chardin referred to this new state of being as Christ's "third nature," meaning that his human and divine natures transcended into a third realm that is neither human nor divine but cosmic. Chardin refers to this process of transformation as the Christification (Divinization) of humanity. Reverend Potter believes that the ultimate goal of humanity is to birth this "Cosmic Christ" or God-Person, this Kingdom of God within all, as Jesus refers to it. This Cosmic birth is a shift from terrestrial life to universal life where humanity realizes its Oneness with all creation. This new "Cosmic birth, this Kingdom of God within achieved by Jesus Christ, to which we are all heirs as he foretold, is the Principle of the Godhead active in history and can be seen working in and through the Israelite people and speaking through the great Biblical patriarchs and prophets. This principle of the Godhead can be seen moving in and through all the great religions of the world in every age. Buddhists refer to it as "becoming the Bodhisattva" or "becoming the Buddha." The Yoga and Vedanta traditions of Hinduism refer to it as "Self-realization" or "God- realization." Sufism of the Islamic tradition refers to it as "becoming an adept or master on the path," by finding the inner Way. Jewish Kabbalah refers to it as "achieving personal development and Self- realization based on the Tree of Life (Map of consciousness). Primordial people referred to it as "all my relations." In the New Testament, Paul speaks of this as the Mystical Body of Christ. This Body embraces the whole of Creation and is the Body of a true realized and awakened humanity as foretold in the Book of Revelation, the book that closes out the Bible. The world, including Christians, has yet to understand the fullness of Jesus Christ's revelation for humanity. This book is an attempt to understand more fully the meaning and purpose of his revelation for the human race while looking at the revelations of other world religions and sacred teachings. We live in a time when the earth itself and all its creatures are in peril because of humanity's disregard for or lack of understanding of the cosmic laws that govern the universe. The most fundamental question for Christians and people in general today is what happened to the body of Jesus after his crucifixion. Did Jesus die a physical death, or was his physical body transformed into another cosmic state-a state that he declared is the goal for the human race?

Is Jesus the Christ? If so, what does that mean? How can a human person be a Cosmic Principle? Don MacGregor hopes to make Christianity more relevant for the twenty-first century in his reflection into the difference between the Universal or Cosmic Christ principle and the human figure of Jesus of Nazareth. He takes a deep dive into reincarnation, mysticism and the message of transformation that Jesus taught, contrasting that with the transaction that the institutional Church taught. This is the third book in the Wisdom Series, in which the author seeks to reframe Christianity within a larger sphere, that of the Perennial Philosophy.

At the end of the twentieth century we began to understand that the earth is vulnerable, that it is like a tiny garden in space, under threat on all sides. Jesus and the Cosmos is an attempt to think theologically about the ecological crisis we face in the light of the great Christian tradition. Our theological tradition has been shaped within the worldview of a static universe. By contrast, we are told today that the universe began with a cosmic explosion called the Big Bang, that we live in an expanding universe with galaxies rushing away from us at an enormous rate, that we human beings are part of an evolutionary movement on the earth, and that we are intimately linked with the health of delicately balanced life-systems on our planet. Not only has modern science given this age a new cosmology, but contemporary historical studies have provided us with a new approach to the historical Jesus. Critical biblical study has allowed us to know far more about the Jesus who brought joy and liberation into people's lives. In Jesus and the Cosmos, Denis Edwards tells the story of the cosmos, the story of Jesus of Nazareth, and shows their connections. Ultimately, he will assert "Jesus of Nazareth, risen from the dead, IS the dynamic power at the heart of the cosmic process."

Born in the Ukraine, educated in Munich, and having practiced medicine in the United States, author Alexis Georg Hoen has been exposed to widely differing political systems and religious beliefs, and he has always maintained an interest as to the origin of these beliefs and their relation to the innermost nature of man. In Christianity and Cosmic Consciousness, he interprets the words and the sacrifice of Jesus as pointing the way toward a realization of our innermost naturethe will to live and love that exists within all. Sharing his experiences and ideas about Christs words and sacrifices, Hoen uses personal anecdotes and biblical examples to illustrate the nature of Christian belief. He provides a host of examples, including key illustrations from the Bible and relevant source material from other writers who address this topic. He shows us that through sacrifice we live in and for others. That is eternal life. Christianity and Cosmic Consciousness represents the core of Christian teaching without resorting to the supernatural and miraculous, yet doesnt try to disprove it.

After first surveying the historical development of the New Age worldview, from ancient times through important tendencies in nineteenth-century America to recent Far Eastern influences, Newport explores in depth eleven key areas of the New Age worldview and contrasts each area of belief with the traditional biblical worldview.

Hans Gustafson proposes pansacramentalism as holding potential for finding the divine in all things and all things in the divine, which carries significant inherent interreligious implications--especially for doing theology. Presupposing the challenge of doing theology divorced from spirituality (lived religious experience), he presents pansacramentalism as a bridge between the two. In so doing, Gustafson offers a history of spirituality and sketches the foundations of a classical approach to sacramentality (through Aquinas) and a contemporary approach to the same (through Rahner and Chauvet). By presenting three fascinating case studies, this book offers particular instances of sacramentality in lived religious experience (i.e., sacramental spirituality). These case studies draw on Thomas Merton and place, Nicholas Black Elk and multiple religious identity, and Fyodor Dostoevsky and Wendell Berry and literature. The book culminates by a) constructing a philosophy of sacramental mediation and criteriology of sacrament, b) engaging panentheism and the suffering of God and world, and c) proposing "panentheistic pansacramentalism" as a new model for understanding the divine-world relationship set in the context of a pansacramental theology of religious pluralism. Finally, a method for doing theology interreligiously is offered based on the overall content of the book and within the context of the interdisciplinary field of interreligious studies.

Praise for We Are One: "Is there a more fulfilling way to deal with Christianity than by perceiving humankind as foundationally sinful, separate, and in dire need of salvation? Or are all of us embraced, accepted, and received by the love of a God that knows no separation or duality -- only oneness? "In the dynamic series of essays that form the exciting and visceral new book, We Are One: A Challenge to Traditional Christianity, Ellwood Norquist presents us with a wisdom-filled paradigm of new thought. "To answer this age-old question, Mr. Norquist, noted philosopher and teacher, has written a compassionate group of essays that raise the questions, discuss the issues, and share the answers." -- Richard Fuller, Senior Editor Metaphysical Review "This is a book that will suggest to the reader the possibilities for new ideas to shape themselves from old and well-defined images and orthodoxies. "Ellwood Norquist draws from a variety of disciplines and resources to point the reader in a direction that will assist in defining humankind as foundationally divine, in union with its Creator, and already saved with the simple suggestion that all we need to do is 'wake up' (much like Alice did in Wonderland) to the notion that we really never did leave the Garden." -- Dr. P. David Wilkinson, Pastor of St. Francis in the Foothills United Methodist Church in Tucson, Arizona
