Virtually physically crippled as a result of two motor vehicle accidents, Mel fights back only to be emotionally devastated by the loss of her 21 year old daughter, also as a result of a motor vehicle accident. With so many negatives surrounding her life in Australia, Mel marries an Irishman, sells up everything and heads off to Ireland, full of hope and renewed enthusiasm to start a brand new life. Unfortunately, things don’t always work out as planned. Finding employment hard to come by, she decides to start up her own business, a business that has all the hallmarks of being very lucrative. Investing most of her savings on securing premises, buying production equipment and having it freighted from Australia to Ireland, Mel takes on three partners to share some of the costs – her husband, her brother-in-law and her sister-in-law. Within what seems a milisecond, Mel’s husband leaves her and relinquishes his shareholdings. Her brother-in-law, a heavy drinker, sells off his share to his wifes brother and her sister-in-law is scheming to defraud the government due to pressing financial problems. If the business didn’t have potential, Mel would never have started it in the first place. As soon as their product was launched, it became an instant success. She knew it would be popular, but was overwhelmed at just how popular. She managed to balance the supply and demand scenario, and things were taking shape nicely. However, someone, for reasons yet unknown - be it revenge, jealousy, financial gain or whatever - took their actions to the extreme by setting fire to the business premises, or arranging for someone else to do it, totally destroying everything she had worked for over the past two years. The Irish Garda (police) botched their investigations, and as a result, the Insurance Company refused to pay out on the claim. Now whether it was one or more of the relatives, the landlord, the opposition, or just someone who didn't want to see her succeed... who did the deed, the question still remains - WHO IS RESPONSIBLE? Maybe YOU can help find the answer? Investigations by the police are continuing with no concrete evidence to charge anyone after three years. No charges being laid by the police, the Insurance Company refusing to pay out on the claim. The only FACT that is known at this very moment, is that it WAS done and Mel ended up without a business, virtually alone and definitely broke. Events are still unfolding right now!
