"It was very different from most books that I have read. I was captivated from the beginning and had to keep turning the pages to find out what happened next.": Judge/Reviewer of Eternal City at the 12th Annual International Self-Published Book Awards competition, Eternal City also receiving perfect scores for its storyline~~~What would any human being not give to be 20 or 25 for always? A Russian prince of the nobility enters the world behind the looking-glass of our reality, a reality most of us are glad not to know. He enters the ongoing war between Good and Evil, as a conscript. He meets angels and demons, vampire-hunters, and vampires from super-ancient civilizations, long dead and forgotten. He encounters a world of secret societies and of the hidden government of vampires, which put him on trial. He made a bargain for immortality and got what he wanted most; he can live forever--more or less--but he also learns the hardest lesson there is to be learned: you don't dance with the Devil for free.

The spellbinding classic that started it all, from the #1 New York Times bestselling author—the inspiration for the hit television series “A magnificent, compulsively readable thriller . . . Rice begins where Bram Stoker and the Hollywood versions leave off and penetrates directly to the true fascination of the myth—the education of the vampire.”—Chicago Tribune Here are the confessions of a vampire. Hypnotic, shocking, and chillingly sensual, this is a novel of mesmerizing beauty and astonishing force—a story of danger and flight, of love and loss, of suspense and resolution, and of the extraordinary power of the senses. It is a novel only Anne Rice could write.

From yesterday to a hundred years ago, he lives in the world and walks among us. He enjoys the finest things in life, including beautfiul women, well-aged wine, and the finest classical composers. He has no guilt—he has no need of it. Neither good, nor bad, neither angel nor devil, he is a man, he is a vampire. And this is his story. . . . “Women are my weakness. Or to be more accurate, I should say they are my greatest weakness, for I have many. Travel. Books. Classical music. Art. Excellent wine. And, formerly, cocaine. I admit these things without a sense of guilt. I am, as my friend from Vienna says, a man with a man’s contradictions. I am neither good nor bad, neither angel nor devil. I am a man. I am a vampire.”—From I, Vampire

The first memoir from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Interview with a Vampire—a "very affecting story of a well-known prodigal’s return ... [a] vivid, engaging tale of the journey of a soul into light” (Chicago Sun-Times). Anne Rice was raised in New Orleans as the devout child in a deeply religious Irish Catholic family. Here, she describes how, as she grew up, she lost her belief in God, but not her desire for a meaningful life. She used her novels—beginning with Interview with a Vampire—to wrestle with otherworldly themes while in her own life, she experienced both loss (the death of her daughter and, later, her beloved husband, Stan Rice) and joys (the birth of her son, Christopher). And she writes about how, finally, after years of questioning, she experienced the intense conversion and re-embracing of her faith that lie behind her most recent novels about the life of Christ.

CAN A SEVEN HUNDRED YEAR OLD TRANSYLVANIAN FIND TRUE LOVE WITH A REVOLUTIONARY RYSEMIAN FISH-WOMAN? Introduction by Theodore Sturgeon After seven hundred years, Glamorous vampire Sterling O'Blivion has begun to think the joy is going out of life. Then she meets Virginia Woolf in the ladies' room of a dance studio in Chicago. But Woolf is really Benaroya, a dolphin-like alien anthropologist here to learn all there is to know about humanity and to fight the good fight against the evil, slave-trading Sajorians. Sterling falls madly in love with Benaroya. It's just the sort of romp an aging vampire needs-but first, to defeat the Sajorians, they have to sell millions of Famous Men's Sperm Kits to every woman on Earth. "Scott carries on the tradition of Mark Twain, using outside observers to remark on society. Targets include ... the treatment of women ... consumer culture and the general human willingness to be led by the nose by a charismatic figure. ... ... a message needed now more than ever." Publisher's Weekly "A lot of of fun ... its real appeal is in Scott's stabs at the foibles and shortcomings of our society. Jody Scott sees things with a clear eye. You must read carefully, for she can point a caustic finger with a single throwaway line. And when she really winds up, everything is fair game: big business, the military, politics, religion and more. In addition to sharpness and criticism, there are wackiness, clever dialogue, action and lots of love. I enjoyed this one immensely and recommend it highly." -The Seattle Times "I liked I, Vampire enough to check it off on the Nebula ballot." -Pamela Sargent "Exuberantly clever and wildly iconoclastic... If you thirst for something really witty, quirky, with bags of brains [...] you'll do no better than this wonderful novel." -For Books' Sake "Those who seek to deride feminist SF often suggest that it is too serious and po-faced, but Jody Scott's wild imagination, seemingly scattershot but tightly controlled, makes ... an absurdly comic romp of unexpected juxtapositions and witty asides." -SF Mistressworks

In 1725, the life of a Polish peasant in the isolated mountain village of Ciemny Gora wasn't as drab a scenario as one might suspect. Yes, life was short and misery abounded. But incredibly, there were some things to brighten one's day; sweeping a dirt floor, contracting typhus, contemplating the possibility of marauding, invading hordes. Coveting your neighbor's shiny new washtub, which you plot to steal after dark. Trying to survive the night. Yes, trying to survive the night because you have something the village priest wants . . . it's your blood. What's a peasant to do? Ciemny Gora village priest, Father Marek Petrushka, died a most unusual death but survived the physical limitations imposed by it by becoming a loathsome pest of the night a vampire. Marek returns from the dead to settle unfinished business. More importantly, he returns because of a desire so strong it circumvents death. A desire so strong it can't be denied. Young Marek felt it his duty and obligation to grant the life wish of his dead mother, that he become a Roman Catholic priest. He also felt it necessary recompense for his Russian father's debauched life and sins. Marek's own dreams and desires and the love of his life, Natassia, are forgotten . . . until he returns, but not as the living. Confessions of a Remorseful Vampire is horror/humor. It is a personal account, narrated in the twenty-first century by the enduring Marek Petrushka, only he is not really so remorseful. It is a dark parody yet a lively one. It is in the style of the 1967 Roman Polanski film The Fearless Vampire Killers, Or: Pardon Me, But Your Teeth Are In My Neck. Confessions is written in alternate chapters of retrospect and introspect. In retrospect, Marek recalls his childhood, adolescence, and life as a priest, as well as imparting fond memories of gleefully desanguinating his beloved flock upon his inception as one of the hungry dead. Marek shows you a humorous side of life in 1725 and the serious side, contributing bits of necessary Polish history, superstition and folklore. Chapters of introspect divulge fact and fallacy about vampires and what it is really like to be one. My novel's intention is to be credible, intelligent, and entertaining. For readers who think the supernatural/paranormal nonsense, I wish to change your mind. Being of Polish descent and a recipient of many supernatural experiences, I can attest that the supernatural isn't always safe fiction, but an unsettling fact.
