DOWNLOAD EBOOK →These proceedings represent the work of contributors to the 4th European Conference on the Impact of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (ECIAIR 2022), hosted by ACI and supported by EM Normandie Business School, Oxford Campus, UK on 1-2 December 2022. The Conference Chair is Dr Paul Griffiths from EM Normandie Business School and the Programme Chair is Dr Caroline Stockman from University of Winchester, UK. ECIAIR is now a well-established event on the academic research calendar and now, in its 4th year, the key aim remains in the opportunity for participants to share ideas and meet people who hold them. The conference was held online as a virtual event. The subjects covered in the papers illustrate the wide range of topics that fall into this important and ever-growing area of research. The opening keynote presentation is given by Dr Velislava Hillman, London School of Economics, UK, on the topic of "AI (In)justice in Education: Challenges for Policy, Governance and Society". The afternoon keynote talk is given by Pof Lode Lauwaert, KU Leuven, Belgium, who will discuss "Ethics of AI: Does AI Lead to a Responsibility Gap?" The second day of the conference will be open with Dr Catholijn M. Jonker, Universiteit Leiden, The Netherlands talking about "Meaningful Human Control in Robotics and Decision Support Systems". The final keynote presentation will be from Dr Andy Edmonds, ThinkBase, LLC, USA, who will discuss "AI on the Edge of Predictability". With an initial submission of 50 abstracts, after the double blind, peer review process there are 16 academic research papers, 4 PhD research papers and 2 masters' research papers published in these Conference Proceedings. These papers represent research from Austria, Bahrain, Brazil, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italia, Netherlands, Romania, România, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, UK and USA
