The book explains and describes the pathways leading to neurotic behaviours, beginning from early years of life, when we set up behavioural patterns that turn out to be fallatious, as regard our needs as well as our interactions with others. There are dreams which are defensive constructions in the name of unsatisfied needs of our childhood; against realities and family dynamics too different and dangerous to cope with, in a developmental stage when a child has no instruments to face or deal with such “troubled waters”. Certain fears in adulthood, overwhelming though irrational to intellect, are the outcome of those moments, when a child was unable to face reality, being at the mercy of oneself, impotent, thus in danger and without a protecting caregiver. In this healing process, shared with a psychotherapist, in a long and painful revisitation of what occured, the unveiling of an emotional world silenced long ago, we dismantle paths built with so much struggle. When we plough into the past with the “experiential” model, there will be a change in our way of being and an enrichment in our interactions with others. The book has a second part dealing with sex abuse in childhood and disruptive relationships.

2 lecture courses & 2 Christmas lectures, Dornach, Oct. 3-7 & Dec. 12-20, 1914; Dornach, Dec. 26 and Basel, Dec. 27, 1914 (CW 156) These two lecture courses, given just after the beginning of World War I, stand as a kind of unexpected gift. A few months later, once the war became a reality, the possibilities for esoteric work would change and it would become more difficult to do spiritual research. But in the short interval before the true horror of the conflict unfolded, Rudolf Steiner --almost by the way --was able to give these lectures, which lay out in the clearest fashion the path of anthroposophic meditation, and its assumptions, language, and consequences. The first lectures expand on the idea of inner "reading" and "hearing" as the path to spiritual knowing. The spiritual world gives something and we, as spiritual researchers, receive and then read or interpret it. Spiritual knowledge is not a matter of will, desire, or intention on our part, but a gift from the spiritual world for which we must prepare ourselves by silencing our desires, emptying ourselves, and presenting ourselves in humility and devotion to the spiritual world. Then we become aware of the reality that the spiritual world is nowhere else but here, all around us; and if we dissolve the sense of being skin-bound, we can become open to it, reflect its images in our astral bodies, and then learn to read them by identification. Steiner describes this complex, subtle, existential and living process, in which ultimately we can become one with the universe, in a masterful way from which anyone who meditates, or wishes to begin to meditate, will gain a great deal. The second lecture cycle, "How to Achieve Existence in the World of Ideas," deepens the themes developed in the first cycle, so that the two together provide a useful guide to the processes underlying meditation or learning to know the spiritual world. At the same time, because work was just beginning on the building that would become the Goetheanum, Steiner connects the esoteric principles of its design with the overall theme of the suprasensory human being in relation to meditation and spiritual knowing. The volume closes with two wonderful lectures in celebration of Christmas. Here Steiner has a threefold emphasis: Christ, supraearthly, glorious, and divine, fully united with humanity and the Earth and born in each human heart. To celebrate Christmas truly means that we recognize all three of these as one in the spiritual world, in the earthly world, and in ourselves. This volume is a translation from German of Okkultes Lesen und okkultes Hören (GA 156).

This is not a time to withhold Love, but to BE it, in all its glory. These are tumultuous times, as all times of great transformation are. But this is also a time of great illumination, vision, and healing. You are a being of Light, and your very presence often serves as an illumination, a healing, and--for those who are unwilling to move out of their present condition--an irritant. As you awaken more fully to these truths, all that has been created in illusion or misunderstanding will fall away. There are many powerful energies and information now available to you that have never existed on planet Earth before. The more greatly aligned with Cosmic Love and True Reality you are, the more you are able to stand in your Light, and stay centered in Love, no matter what others think of you. The greatest gift and offering you can bring to the uplifting of this world is the evolution of your own consciousness. For some, it may seem increasingly more difficult to "keep the faith" when it appears that such dark and negative activities continue to exist on your planet. To speak of Cosmic Love may seem like "pie in the sky," or some outdated ideal from years past. Yet Truth is more powerful than fiction, Light is more powerful than the absence of it, and Love is the leader of the day. Truth, Light, and Love carry the frequency of restoration within them, and these are your greatest tools. COSMIC LOVE is the result of three years of channeled material from The Akashic Wisdom Keepers, via Irma Kaye Sawyer--a labor of, well... Cosmic Love.

Desiring the Beautiful studies the concept of deification, theosis, in two of the most influential early Christian philosopher-theologians, who might be considered as theoretical consolidators of the idea of theosis, and argues that the proper understanding of their central soteriological concept must take into account its dimension of love and beauty.

Operating on the premise that our failure to recognize our interconnected relationship to the rest of the cosmos is the origin of planetary peril, this volume presents academic, activist, and artistic perspectives on how to inspire reflection and motivate action in order to construct alternative frameworks and establish novel solidarities for the sake of our planetary home. The selections in this volume explore ecologies of interdependence as a frame for religious, theological, and philosophical analysis and practice. Contributors examine questions of justice, climate change, race, class, gender, and coloniality and discuss alternative ways of engaging the world in all its biodiversity. Each essay, poem, reflection, and piece of art contributes to and reflects upon how to live out entangled differences toward positive global change. Constructive and practical, global and local, communal and personal, Ecological Solidarities is an innovative contribution to the discourses on relational and liberative thought and practice in religion, philosophy, and theology. It will be welcomed by scholars of World Christianity and theology as well as seminary students, activists, and laity interested in issues of justice and ecology.

Delivers a transcendent worldview uniting science, metaphysics and a cosmology of Love, in the service of healing humanity This innovative publication addresses metaphysics as a core consideration and foundation for the evolution of nursing in the context of Watson's Unitary Care Science. If affirms and invites a maturing of the nursing profession and its developing consciousness of human-universe as the substance of Unitary Caring Science, along with its basis in the evolving cosmology of love. Within this conceptual framework the book examines metaphysics and the non-physical, invisible, spirit realm of human experiences, health, and healing, creating a new space to explore the relationship between science and spirit phenomena generally eschewed in Western thought. Addressing such topics as the meaning of metaphysics and why now is an ideal moment to pursue a unity of nursing and metaphysics, the book describes the personal, metaphysical and mystical experiences of the author and other contributors as a catalyst for readers to awaken and examine their own such experiences. Using an evolved Unitary Caring Science worldview of what is considered real and true within this paradigm and beyond Western science, the text honors the self in relation to diverse, unique experiences of patients from all backgrounds and belief systems. It explores personal experiences that cannot be explained using the dominant worldview and seeks to integrate science and metaphysics as a core branch of philosophy. A metaphysical understanding of nursing’s unitary relational worldview of oneness as foundation for mature discipline and practice provides nurses with a philosophical, theoretical, and scientific foundation for the evolution of humankind. The text also explores the cosmology of Love as the foundational energy of life and the basis of a new call to the nursing profession to awaken their ancient and future role as metaphysicians of caring, health, and healing. Key Features: Provides metaphysical evidence and a deep philosophical understanding of the role of metaphysics and the cosmology of Love within Watson's Unitary Caring Science Disseminates these teachings through the writings of prominent nurse scholars, philosophers, theologians, scientists, and historians Includes personal moments, messages, and quotes to create evocative imaginative meanings and inspiration to metaphysical phenomena Demonstrates how the concept of soul and spirit can be metaphysically reconciled as a real and true phenomena of concern within nursing Explores Unitary Caring Science in depth in relation to mature nursing phenomena and a worldview encompassing healing and health

Overviewing what makes the intersection between emotion and ethics so confusing, this book surveys an older wisdom in how to manage it, using a range of Christian theologians and sources. More important even than 'managing', we begin to see a vision for a better set of affections to grow within and among us. In this vision emerges a practical and nuanced account of what the Christian tradition sometime summarises as 'love'. How may we recover a deep affection for what matters, both within ourselves and together in groups? This book also dialogues with a new movement in moral psychology, 'social intuitionism'. Cameron argues that researchers in this discipline have interests and conclusions that sometimes overlap with Christian sources, even where their respective lenses differ. In this way, the book overviews recent trends in moral psychology against a recent historical and contemporary cultural backdrop, whilst assaying major sources in Christian theology that offer guidance on moral psychology.
