In the series of poems that underpins this collection, David Romtvedt imagines the daily lives of angels as well as other, more earthly, concerns. Whether he is considering the work of raising a child or imagining the work of the divine, Romtvedt displays an appreciation for all that surrounds us. His poems explore features of the Western world while offering accounts of life in Nicaragua, Rwanda, and the Congo. Throughout the collection, he displays an awareness of our remarkably diverse and intrinsically connected planet. A meditation on the ever-present need to balance our exterior life with our spiritual one, Dilemmas of the Angels is a masterful testament to a universal human struggle.

In David Romtvedt’s seventh collection, Dilemmas of the Angels, the intersections of the public and private, and the global and local, are explored with a focus on the strangeness of everyday life. Throughout, the bonds and challenges of parenthood and marriage underscore larger questions about one’s place in space and time, as well as the tensions between the worldly and the divine. Romtvedt, Poet laureate emeritus of Wyoming, shows an appreciation for the distinct mountainous landscape of his adopted home, a setting paired with accounts of Nicaragua, Rwanda and the Congo, to produce a remarkably diverse but intrinsically connected planet. A mediation on the ever-present need to balance the materiality of our exterior lives with the riches of our spiritual ones, Dilemmas of the Angels is a masterful testament to a very human struggle.

A guide to the early decisions that can make or break startup ventures Often downplayed in the excitement of starting up a new business venture is one of the most important decisions entrepreneurs will face: should they go it alone, or bring in cofounders, hires, and investors to help build the business? More than just financial rewards are at stake. Friendships and relationships can suffer. Bad decisions at the inception of a promising venture lay the foundations for its eventual ruin. The Founder's Dilemmas is the first book to examine the early decisions by entrepreneurs that can make or break a startup and its team. Drawing on a decade of research, Noam Wasserman reveals the common pitfalls founders face and how to avoid them. He looks at whether it is a good idea to cofound with friends or relatives, how and when to split the equity within the founding team, and how to recognize when a successful founder-CEO should exit or be fired. Wasserman explains how to anticipate, avoid, or recover from disastrous mistakes that can splinter a founding team, strip founders of control, and leave founders without a financial payoff for their hard work and innovative ideas. He highlights the need at each step to strike a careful balance between controlling the startup and attracting the best resources to grow it, and demonstrates why the easy short-term choice is often the most perilous in the long term. The Founder's Dilemmas draws on the inside stories of founders like Evan Williams of Twitter and Tim Westergren of Pandora, while mining quantitative data on almost ten thousand founders. People problems are the leading cause of failure in startups. This book offers solutions.

"With stem cell research, Dolly the cloned sheep, in vitro fertilization, age retardation, and pharmaceutical mind enhancement, humankind is now faced with decisions that it has never before had to consider. The thoughtfulness, or lack of it, that we bring to those decisions will largely determine the future character of the living world. Brutes or Angels will facilitate informed choice making about the personal use of biotechnologies and the formulation of public policies governing their development and use. Ten biotechnologies that impact humans are considered: stem cell research, embryo selection, human genomics, gene therapies, human reproductive cloning, age retardation, cognition enhancement, the engineering of nonhuman organisms, nanobiology, and synthetic biology. With deft and assured use of metaphors, analogies, diagrams, and photographs, James T. Bradley introduces important biological principles and the basic procedures used in biotechnology. Various ethical issues--personhood, personal identity, privacy, ethnic discrimination, distributive justice, authenticity and human nature, and the significance of mortality in the human life cycle--are presented in a clear and unbiased manner. Personal reflection and group dialogue are encouraged by questions at the end of each chapter, making this book not only a general guide to better informed and nuanced thinking on these complex and challenging topics but also an appropriate text for bioethics courses in university science departments and for adult education classes." -- Publisher's description.

On the way from school, Miri found a little dog. The puppy followed her home. Her father was very angry about it. He accused his wife of buying the dog for Miri. Later, he believed that the puppy willingly followed her home. He informed the police about it. Miri believed that it was God who has given her the puppy. She named it Velocity and Victory. The dog soon became very popular. It understood sixteen languages including Esperanto. It could solve problems in mathematics. That special talent earned it the name, the little angel. At the 3rd International dog competition, it won nine gold medals from ten events. That made the police become interested it the little but wonderful dog. Three police officers visited Miri's parents, and asked them to lend them the dog. After many months of refusal, they sadly lent it to the police. After a few years, the police organised another dog competition. They invited Miri to go with them. On the way, something incomprehensible happened. Miri, Velocity and the police found themselves in an incomprehensible equilateral triangle. The rain, like their tears, began to drizzle.

My wife and I have been born again saved Christians for over 20 years. We do have a non-denominational church home and we study The Holy Bible together regularly at home. We have a blended family with 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren. I have worked for 20 years in electric operations and transportation. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Christian Apologetics. The book is primarily about relationship issues that result from illegitimate people groupings in modern day society. The book has an overwhelming focus on the spiritual impact on people, when pride based problems are not properly addressed with a biblical relationship with Jesus Christ. I have personally struggled with many of the people grouping issues discussed in this book; pride has been one such stumbling block for me. Creating this book has in part been a personal journey for me, helping me to heal some of the wounds inflicted upon me by others, as well as heal wounds I’ve caused others. It is my sincere hope and prayer that your journey through this book will heal you and your loved ones, as it has done for me and my family. With God’s help, Christians and Non-Christians alike can all benefit from the experiences, tools, and methods in this book by improving themselves spiritually, and by improving the quality of their relationships with others
