Milestones not met within the expected timeframe can raise concerns about developmental delays, health conditions, or other factors contributing negatively to the child's growth and learning. Monitoring children's development in relation to this continuum through developmental screening, to identify delays, and to individualize approaches to development and learning, is an important part of providing high-quality child care and early education.
