This book presents an epistemological framework for integrating entrepreneurship education across the general school curriculum. It also explores how such education can be inclusive and integral to the objective, content, pedagogy and assessment practices for different stages of school education in general and the elementary stage in particular. It takes on board the development of entrepreneurial proficiencies through the use of narratives, arts and craft, work and life skills and home-community partnership. The precise aims of the book are to: (a) conceptualize entrepreneurship education in different stages of school education as an objective, an approach and as a specific subject; (b) promote the culture of entrepreneurship in the school system; (c) establish a methodology within which effective teaching-learning can be developed with respect to the extent to which entrepreneurial learning is considered to be an extracurricular activity or as an intrinsic part of school education; (d) integrate entrepreneurship education at the elementary stage, and its progression further on; and (e) identify behavioural outcomes validating entrepreneurship development in school education.

Entrepreneurial education offers more than can be imagined. It helps to cultivate skills and mindsets that children should be aiming to hone and which can be applied all their lives. However, there is a whole lot to this big word called ‘Entrepreneur’ and this book hopes to break it down. Since it is said that Entrepreneurs are 5% born with inborn talents and 95% made through trainings and life experiences; it means everyone can learn the skills that makes one an entrepreneur. Rt Hon. Anne Milton MP (Former Member of Parliament for Guildford, House of Commons, London) lends her voice by saying: “Entrepreneurial education offers so many benefits for children from all backgrounds. It is a chance to develop and exercise skills that can’t be learnt easily in the classroom. We all want to see young people developing the skills to make them the entrepreneurs of the future” In summary, this book: • Explores the skills that makes one a successful entrepreneur in a simple and easy to remember acronym – E.N.T.R.E.P.R.E.N.E.U.R • Skills are buttressed using the stories of various Entrepreneurs and ‘Kidpreneurs’. • Keeps you busy with lots of word search challenges, scrambled words, quizzes and assessments. • Has fun ‘Kidpreneur’ quotes at the end of every chapter.

Can you learn to be an entrepreneur in a week? The book focuses on short entrepreneurship education initiatives and includes eleven courses from European research-based universities. The book provides insights on best practice and lessons learned from experience for potential and current organizers of such initiatives. Entrepreneurship initiatives are a common response to top-down decisions to include entrepreneurship in all disciplines and study programs. There is often also a regional or societal goal for these activities. Different types of programme are analysed, from those aiming to instil an entrepreneurial mindset, those preparing the individual for an entrepreneurial career to those based on collaborations between universities. The authors make comparisons of the audiences, goals, organization and pedagogical approaches in each case to answer whether entrepreneurship can be taught in one week. By reading this book university managers, course designers and those delivering entrepreneurship initiatives will be able to make a more informed decision regarding if and how they should be organized.
