These immigrant Goddards are classified by the century in which they arrived, followed thereafter by descendants and relatives in various parts of the United States and Canada. Those families immigrating earlier naturally had the longest lineage. There were 12 immigrant families in the 1600s, 6 in the 1700s, 53 in the 1800s, and 12 in the 1900s. All of these are covered in v. 1, as well as others where the immigrant ancestor has not yet been clearly identified. Vol. 2 deals with ancestry in the British Isles, France and elsewhere in Europe, as well as more data about descendants and relatives in North America of earlier English immigrants.
