This book discusses analogies between relativistic cosmology and various physical systems or phenomena, mostly in the earth sciences, that are described formally by the same equations. Of the two independent equations describing the universe as a whole, one (the Friedmann equation) has the form of an energy conservation equation for one-dimensional motion. The second equation is fairly easy to satisfy (although not automatic): as a result, cosmology lends itself to analogies with several systems. Given that a variety of universes are mathematically possible, several analogies exist. Analogies discussed in this book include equilibrium beach profiles, glacial valleys, the shapes of glaciers, heating/cooling models, freezing bodies of water, capillary fluids, Omori's law for earthquake aftershocks, lava flows, and a few mathematical analogies (Fibonacci's sequence, logistic equation, geodesics of various spaces, and classic variational problems). A century of research in cosmology can solve problems on the other side of an analogy, which in turn can suggest ideas in gravity. Finding a cosmic analogy solves the inverse variational problem of finding a Lagrangian and a Hamiltonian for that system, when nobody thought one exists. Often, the symmetries of the cosmological equations translate in new symmetries of the analogous system. The book surprises the reader with analogies between natural systems and exotic systems such as possible universes.

In this critically acclaimed book, first published in 1988 and now reprinted in paperback, scientist and author Paul Davies explains how recent scientific advances are transforming our understanding of the emergence of complexity and organization in the universe. Melding a variety of ideas and disciplines from biology, fundamental physics, computer science, mathematics, genetics, and neurology, Davies presents his provocative theory on the source of the universe's creative potency. He explores the new paradigm (replacing the centuries-old Newtonian view of the universe) that recognizes the collective and holistic properties of physical systems and the power of self-organization. He casts the laws in physics in the role of a "blueprint," embodying a grand cosmic scheme that progressively unfolds as the universe develops. Challenging the viewpoint that the physical universe is a meaningless collection particles, he finds overwhelming evidence for an underlying purpose: "Science may explain all the processes whereby the universe evolves its own destiny, but that still leaves room for there to be a meaning behind existence."

This book includes for the first time ever how the Universe started from the point of the first point. The law is that the distances of the planets from the sun, is based on the numerical sequence 0, 3, 6, 12, 24,48… By adding 4 to each number and then by dividing by that number by 10 gives the sequence of 0.4, 0.7, 1, 1.6, 2.8,5.6,which represents the distances in astronomical units for planets. I explain why we start with the number 3; that I explain, why we have to add 4, the number 4 this I explain and why we then have to divide by 10 the number 10 this too I explain. I explain in precise detail why the planet distances from the sun doubles every time. Moreover I explain what effect this has on gravity. This has never been achieved before. I took this back also to prove how the Universe started and why Jupiter is so much bigger than all the other planets. From information gained by using the Titius Bode law I read what happened in the solar system as the solar system developed. I explain how this law and 3 other laws form gravity and how this affects all of us on earth in experiencing gravity. The Titius Bode Law is deciphered for the first time ever but you don't know what the Titius Bode law means because science has been hiding this law for 250 years out of plain sight. Since 1776 not one in science pursuit to find an explanation about the Titius Bode law…If you don't believe me find out what the Titius Bode law is.Then find how amazed you are that you know nothing about such a most important issue in nature. Ask yourself why you don't know… Your ignorance about this speaks volumes…and now I deciphered the Titius Bode law and found it is adding 3 + 4 =7 Reading the title How the Solar System forms stops every Physicist's having further interest. However this title refers to how nature applies physics and this is nature's law.The book is also named ((Proving How the Titius Bode law works) and this means nothing to everybody, although this law forms the solar system since the beginning of time. Pretending its not there such as science do does not promote science's credibility but spreads ignorance. It is what is in nature and what is used by nature to form the solar system and says a lot about the way science ignored this in the past. Science ignorance has never brought about reality in physics but it placed science in a role of denial and deception and I prove that. Reality in physics is that Newton's cosmological concepts are not in nature therefore not in reality and using Newton's “mass” concept in the cosmos has no more value than using your imagination. Read this and see for your own personal information gain. This is what is out there used by nature and what science puts forward as Newton's gravitational truth is the biggest scam any person ever conducted on the human population. If you read this you will find out how the cosmos works. I take you to the beginning where the Universe started by starting with one spot.In this version I take the reader into the start of the Universe, into the very first instant where a Universe came about. That I am able t do because I found the keys by which time builds space as a Universe. By studying the four principles that form gravity an d by realising gravity is the movement of space inside space I was able to pinpoint where the start of the Universe began. I can show you where to put your finger on the spot where the Universe started and from there guide you along the route of development. I show you how the very first particle started and not only that but what the very first particle was that formed. This book opens an avenue never travelled before in science..The book “How the Universe Works” is also named (Nature Working in the Natural Universe) and this means nothing to everybody, although this law forms the solar system since the beginning of time. Pretending its not there such as science do does not promote science's credibility but spreads ignorance.

Not since Newton’s apple has there been a physics phenomenon as deliciously appealing to the masses as Frank Close’s Cosmic Onion. Widely embraced by scientists and laypersons alike, the book quickly became an international bestseller. Translated into seven languages, it propelled the author to become a worldwide celebrity as well as an inspiration to a generation of scientists. The book’s title itself has entered popular usage as a metaphor for the layers that can be peeled away to understand the foundations of the physical world, from dimensions and galaxies, to atoms and quarks. “Close is a lucid, reliable, and enthusiastic guide to the strange and wonderful microcosmic world that dwells deep within reality” — Frank Wilczek, Herman Feshbach Professor of Physics, MIT, 2004 Nobel Prize in Physics NEW Material Explains the principles behind the Hadron Collider as well as the potential it presents Considers the recent development of the Electroweak Theory as a law of nature Explores the mysteries uncovered and the ones that may be in store with regard to top and bottom quarks Keeping still-pertinent contents from the original volume that caught the world’s attention in 1983, this fresh edition of the Cosmic Onion includes extensive new material to reflect new views of the universe. Providing explanations that explore the foundations of 21st Century science and future directions, this work offers ready access and unique perspectives to more typical topics such as the forces of nature, atoms, the nucleus, and nuclear particles. It also travels down paths that only a true pioneer and educator can venture, such as a discussion of what Professor Close refers to as the Eightfold Way including the findings, surprises, and new questions emerging from the latest work with accelerators.
