Chasing Sage is an intriguing depiction of suspense, romance, murder, betrayal and mystery. Sage Cameron has a past that makes her question why life and relationships seem to always be complex and toxic. She wonders if "Danger" is her middle name because her past and current lifestyle leads to an uncertain future. Standing oddly behind her, he knew she could smell his cologne and hoped that the eighth sense of his desires would permeate through his Italian suit into her form fitting dress. As the rail car gets more occupied, he positioned himself just behind her so she could feel his strength if the gods of lust would grant him the sweet chance of brushing up against her at their next stop and start. His intense feelings made him want to have his fill of her sweet nectar, and he visualized turning her around and... "Excuse me, sir," the gentleman next to him asked. He was immediately brought back to his senses."Yes," he replied. "What time is it?" inquired the young man. "It's 6:15 according to my watch, young blood." As the young man politely thanked him, he pressed the barrel of his 9mm into his side and whispered "The Rolex, the ring, and the wallet, Big Spender." "Damn!" he replied. He couldn't believe it. The robber immediately put his valuables in his coat pocket; then pointed the gun toward her and said, "Tell your girlfriend that I need her purse too." As he tried to tell the robber that they were not together, he pressed the gun against her side, she jumped and looked him directly in the face..... .....After placing the gun back under his jacket and her purse under his other arm, the robber started to calmly walk away when he kicked the back of his left leg and lunged toward him as the purse dropped to the floor and its contents scattered. The robber quickly gained his footing, swung around, pulled the gun out and pointed the gun at him again; but this time with a grimace on his face and fire in his eyes. Fearing that he had made a horrible mistake by not finishing the job, he was relieved to see that the robber became more interested in getting out of the rail car than putting a slug in him. He was not sure if the angels were protecting them or the robber by letting him squeeze through the narrow doorway, but he was happy to see that the threat was gone despite him wanting to cut the rose-draped cross tattoo off of the left side of the robber's neck for his latest warfare trophy collection. If the robber knew what was good for him, the robber wouldn't be seen again because the next time will be a deadly encounter. He turned his attention to his beautiful distraction as he picked up her purse and tried to return it to her. Loose change and her business cards fell out of her purse as it fell to the floor revealing a gorgeous photo of her standing next to a beautician's chair with the name "Intrigue Salon and Beauty" printed along the side of the high gloss card. He anticipated her saying her name was "Intrigue" when he asked her; but when she paused and said her name was Sage, the apprehension in her voice told him that she wasn't comfortable with him and didn't trust him. To break the ice, he offered an ill-timed joke by asking her if she gave him her stripper name. The piercing look she gave let him know that she didn't appreciate his sense of humor, and she quickly gathered her things and ran off the rail car as the doors opened at the next stop. He knelt there dumbfounded and wanting to have a "do over" for his error in judgement. He dropped his head in frustration, but recognized that he had options when he saw one of Sage's business cards still on the floor. When he reached for his wallet to put the card in, reality smacked him squarely in the face because the thug still had his valuables. More importantly, he had his personal information.

Indiana State Police Captain Matt Leach led the hunt for John Dillinger during the violent early 1930s. Pushing a media campaign aimed at smoking out the fugitive, Leach elevated Dillinger to unprecedented notoriety. In return, Dillinger taunted him with phone calls and postcards, and vowed to kill him. Leach's use of publicity backfired, making him a pariah among his fellow policemen, and the FBI ordered his firing in 1937 for challenging their authority. This is the first full-length biography of the man.

Twins, they both had tempers just like all the men in their family. It remained to be seen if the oldest had any of the other traits of his family. The problem was that both brothers had inherited their family anger and their family's issues with the other side. Neither knew anything about it, but it was going to play a huge part in their club life from now on. The twin's mother was a devout follower of the Santerial religion in St. Johns, meaning there were other aspects added into the twin's lives. Magic and other worldliness were prevalent. The twins would soon find out that this was to complicate their lives, whether their mother was around or not. There was so much that the twins were not made aware of, but sooner rather than later they would begin their journey. It was a journey that would suck every one of their compatriots into the mire, one that would threaten all they had come to know.

Although a report by the congressionally mandated Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction, Proliferation, and Terrorism concluded that biological or nuclear weapons were very likely to be unleashed in the years soon after 2001, what Americans actually have experienced are relatively low-tech threats. Yet even under a new administration, extraordinary domestic and international policies enacted by the U.S. government in the wake of 9/11 remain unchanged. Political scientist and former FBI consultant Michael Barkun argues that a nonrational, emotion-driven obsession with dangers that cannot be seen has played and continues to play an underrecognized role in sustaining the climate of fear that drives the U.S. "war on terror." Barkun identifies a gap between the realities of terrorism--"violence without a return address--and the everyday discourse about it among government officials and the general public. Demonstrating that U.S. homeland security policy reflects significant nonrational thinking, Barkun offers new recommendations for effective--and rational--policymaking.

Chasing Automation tells the story of how a group of reform-minded politicians during the heyday of America's industrial prowess (1921–1966) sought to plan for the technological future. Beginning with Warren G. Harding and the Conference he convened in 1921, Jerry Prout looks at how the US political system confronted the unemployment caused by automation. Both liberals and conservatives spoke to the crucial role of technology in economic growth and the need to find work for the unemployed, and Prout shows how their disputes turned on the means of achieving these shared goals and the barriers that stood in the way. This political history highlights the trajectories of two premier scientists of the period, Norbert Wiener and Vannevar Bush, who walked very different paths. Wiener began quietly developing his language of cybernetics in the 1920s though its effect would not be realized until the late 1940s. The more pragmatic Bush was tapped by FDR to organize the scientific community and his ultimate success—the Manhattan Project—is emblematic of the technological hubris of the era. Chasing Automation shows that as American industrial productivity dramatically increased, the political system was at the mercy of the steady advance of job replacing technology. It was the sheer unpredictability of technological progress that ultimately posed the most formidable challenge. Reformers did not succeed in creating a federal planning agency, but they did create a enduring safety net of laws that workers continue to benefit from today as we face a new wave of automation and artificial intelligence.
